Another wonderful holiday in Agia Marina, September 2012.
We have visited Manolis Taverna every year for the last 20 years & have seen many changes but still the same great food!!! The staff are very friendly & helpful & nothing is too much trouble.
The menu is always varied with Cretan home cooked dishes & a special dish each evening. One of our favourite starters is Gigantes (Giant Beans) which have to be ordered 2 days in advance & Ioanna (Manolis wife) will gladly cook for you, another favourite is Kalatsounia (Spinach & Cheese Pies). Available from the grill are Lamb or Pork Chops & Fresh Fish.
I had the pleasure of sampling a sheep's head this year which was prepared by Manolis & he joined me for this feast, this was all washed down with the house red & Tsikoudia (Raki). We always seem to be the last to leave (I wonder WHY!!!!)
