“One of the highlights of our trip to Jaco - do not miss!”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

Take a taxi to Villa Caletas to see the sunset and have dinner. Plan to get there about 4:30 p.m. for a cocktail overlooking the ocean and mountains. Just driving in through the long, windy driveway with views of the city are breathtaking. We loved it so much, we went twice. The restaurant is a bit more expensive that in Jaco but a treat and well worth the trip. One of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever experienced. Excellent staff, food and decor. If you have time, browse around the grounds and the hotel - an experience you will not soon forget. Highly recommend - especially for your last night of vacation.

“A wonderful place for lunch”
Reviewed December 22, 2013

We are staying in Santa Ana as a base and planned a trip to the coast and Carara National Park. At the suggestion of our hosts in Santa Ana, we stopped for lunch at Villa Caletas. What an amazing experience! From the moment we drove in the views were spectacular. We ate a delicious lunch while relaxing high above the Pacific. The islands of the Nicoya Peninsula were the back drop. Lunch was very good (a little pricy but the view!) and the service was wonderful. I would seriously think of staying here the next time we are in Costa Rica. It is definitely a place to stop for lunch or a drink. I imagine that at sunset it would be magical.

“Move Villa Caletas to location of #1 Restaurant in Herradura”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

Fellow travelers, do not miss a visit to the restaurants at Villa Caletus! My wife and I were staying at the Los Suenos Marriott, and enjoyed wonderful dinners there and at the Marina, however, we drove a short distance to this terrific place, 1000 ft overlooking the Pacific, and it was magnificent. They played equally spectacular music, Vangelis, 1492 The Conquest of Paradise, and oh how appropriate, to enhance an ethereal view. We arrived at 5:30 and watched the sun set in this spectacular tropical setting, one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. My most sincere travelers advice; do not miss dinner here. We loved it and came back the next morning for breakfast. I filmed a short excerpt from our dinner there, to relive it again and again.

“Expectations Exceeded”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

The whole trip to Costa Rica we have been searching for a reason to come back, Several friends have made recommendations of places to go and visit. Villa Caletas was one that a friend said was the best place to be at sunset. There has not been one night since we have been here that we have been able to look forward to a sunset, but we decided to stop by tonight anyway.
We were to early for dinner so we were seated with a lunch menu. You have never experienced a lunch menu like this. I started with an incredible Shrimp cocktail that was different from anything I have ever experienced and had to beat Marina off from eating it. I moved onto the beef medallion's that were beyond my expectations and Katerina wanted to share after the first bite even though her plain chicken breast was the best she has ever tasted.
The service (although a little quiet between lunch & dinner) was non-stop between the drinks, appetizer's, main course and right into dessert. They were a team that kept everything on time. A meal that was 5 star without the stuffiness and we look forward to going back before we leave for home. You never know what to expect when someone recommends something but what I have found is that the people who recommend anything about Costa Rica know what they are talking about.

“Villa caletas dining and drinks with a view”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

While staying in Jaco we took the time to go eat and drink at Villa Caletas for the sunset view. It was awesome. Best view around and great food and drinks. The view overlooking the ocean and the mountain were breathtaking. We had drinks for a while and stayed for dinner. All was very good, it was expensive compared to eating in Jaco itself but it was special evening so we didn't mind the extra cost. Not a very night kind of place though.
