We loved this place - ate here for two of our 4 nights on the island. The food was delicious, nice wine too, and the location literally on a deck out over the water is perfect. A good tip is to go in time to watch the sunset - just stunning.

The tables are on a deck literally next to the ocean at the end of the small harbour in Hanga Roa. Reasonably priced for Easter Island, pleasant friendly service, menus in Spanish and English and the food is good! We went more than once because the location has to be one of the best in town.

Great location, great staff, average prices for the area. The food was not good at all, one person had chicken and it was way over cooked, two of us had the fish because they were sold out of a few other things. The fish was not prepared well and my potatoes were full of fish scales... I would not go back!

Chuck a bottle into the Pacific Ocean from the terrace at La Kaleta - and it's easy to do, the water only being a few feet away - and it will carry on floating until it gets to Pitcairn Island. That is an uplifting thought as you sit watching the sun go down and waiting for your fish. When it arrives it will, if you are lucky, be a local variety called kana-kana, which according to the Net is a variety of turbot. Preceded by a dish of crab claws, washed down with Chilean beer, it does all right. The breeze off the water is brisk enough to dispel the humidity, but not - at least on the night that we were there - so strong as to be a nuisance. Our waitress was good-humoured and helpful; she managed to rustle up a sweet potato to go with my wife's fish when the kitchen seemed to be out of them.

It seems to be popular with tour groups, so a reservation would be sensible.

We ate here for my partner's birthday. We reserved by email in advance and I ordered a birthday cake too. the place is a little shabby...its like a shack on the beach so we were actually thinking of going somewhere else. In the event, we stayed and glad we did so. These guys serve the best Ceviche of all Peru and Chile. It is truly divine. The fish for mains was cooked to perfection as were the crab legs. Its not cheap - nothing on easter Island is cheap - but the food is truly excellent. Service can be improved but we had an inexperienced waiter who also forgot to bring the cake. He also recommended a not so nice bottle of wine!! One week later, we received an email from the owner apologizing because she had noticed then that the waiter had not got us the ordered cake. Anyway, we would recommend this restaurant for the food. Sunset is also great and we reserved a table exactly by the sea only for it to be ruined by hordes of inconsiderate tourists who were dining at the same restaurant moving in front of us to take photos of the sunset in a continuous stream of people that lasted the duration of the sunset. to these tourists, next time book a table by the water and book in advance and don't spoil other people's evenings as though you've never seen a sunset before!!
