“Nice evening with a great show!”
Reviewed June 29, 2014

This is an experience that is very highly recommended. It starts with your pick up from your hotel to the restaurant. You get an introductory drink and then learn how the food is cooked (underground, using hot stones, food covered in banana leaves). You are also exposed to some Rapa Mui and get a chance to learn a few steps prior to dinner. Dinner is a fun experience (but stay away from the wine..ha ha). Thereafter you get to see the main event for the show - the Rapa Nui dance. Wow wow wow. Simply fantastic. Not to be missed. Worth every penny!

“Worth every penny”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

This was our first meal on Rapa Nui and it set a positive tone for the entire trip. We made reservations from Miami before leaving. As part of the cost of the meal they will pick you up at hotel. Don't forget your are on island time so if they say they will pick you up at 7:00 and they show up at 7:30 don't feel that you will miss much...the experience starts in a covered porch in which the food is in the center and has been cooking for hours. Nice local music and family children dancers bless food with their dancing. They then uncover perfectly cooked food and you go inside to eat it. Island dancing show follows....all in all I could not have asked for more.

“Great island experience”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

I was lucky enough to have Marcus from Easter Island Traveling make us dinner reservations for Te Ra'ai. What a fun experience. The food was amazing and the show was very informative. They took the time to explain what they were doing in both Spanish and English and provided wonderful insight on island traditions. Well worth the money for such a great experience!

“Premium Rapa Nui experience”
Reviewed November 30, 2013

Excellent way of learning more about the culture related to history, myths and legends and food preparation. The Umu Pae is a traditional (slow) cooking style. The result is very juicy meat because all is simmering in its own juice for many hours. The show after the dinner was also awesome. Was sitting on the second row, took great pictures. Highly recommended during your stay on Rapa Nui. I visited in November 2012.

“delish underground cooked pork!”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

we had a great time here. the traditional dances show was great. the dancers work very hard to put on a fantastic show - very energetic and thoughtfully done. we were also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food as we had not had great experience with these show-and-a-meal deals. the pork in particular was savory and succulent. yum! it was fun watching them removing layers of dirt, clothes, and banana leaves and finally revealing the steaming meats underneath. most audiences speak Spanish but the host took time to translate to English for us so that was very nice.
