We had empanadas in Santiago de Chile and in Hanga roa however, this wee restaurant is the one making the best ones!! If you want to eat without spending a fortune and eating good food, this is the place to go.
The Empanadas are made from scratch (and to order) by the cook and they're pretty big and yummy!! Even if they're fried, they do not taste of grease or oil at all....fantastic!!
empanadas: like a pastie filled with meat, cheese, veggies ect...at your own taste.

I ate empanadas in others places, and this the best.Especially tuna empanada. And big empanada, with enough size for a lunch or dinner wirh a good price.I recommend, because many restaurants in Eastern Islands are expensive, and the problems is not price, bur value for money.Like to pau US$ 20,,00 for a portion of frid potatoes, or US$100,00 for a dinner without wine.,with a fair food, but nothing special,Contragulation to this simple restaurant, with good and generous food.

The restaurants i visited during my 5 night stay, offer average meals. Prices are very high. 23,- US dollar for a simple spaghetti bolognese is pretty normal. All goods and ingredients must be flown in, which make the prices understandably high. It is worth it to buy and cook your ownn food in the hostels....

We had different guidebooks, but both had this place listed. Fodors called it Tia Berta, and they also have a sign by that name on the restaurant. We both had empanadas - I had tuna and cheese which was excellent. My aunt had salchicha and although not was she was expecting it was also good. They also had great Pisco sours. My advice is to save $10 and skip getting fries - they are the frozen kind. Overall, a great value (one of the cheapest places on the islands) if you get empanadas and great quality. I did look at the regular menu, and their prices are in line for meals with the other places on the island.
