Our party of 4 adults and 3 teenagers enjoyed our 2 nights at this great place very much. We had a big, lovely, comfortable villa at the very top of the resort. The top part of the resort has a lovely little pool with the most amazingly beautiful view of the lake down below. The flora and the fauna surrounding the villas: just fanatic!!

The Villas are a great destination for adventure travelers. The villas are positioned in a rain forest on a beautiful volcanic lake. You wake up to monkeys howling in the trees and to the sun rising over the laguna! You can hike from here to Caterina or do day trips and come back and enjoy a dip in the lake. It was nice to come back to the villas at the end of the day and relax. There is a simple restaurant with good food by the pool half way up the hill. We ate half our meals there. The other meals we ate out or brought food back from town and cooked our own meals. Highly recommend it for adventure type travelers who want to spend a couple of days get away. The laguna should not be missed!

Room Tip: Ask for a deluxe villa with a view.

The Villas at Apoyo is a hidden gem of Nicaragua, just 15 minutes away from the oldest colonial city of Central America, Granada, Nicaragua. The Villas at Apoyo won't fail to impress you in the most natural of ways. I can't wait to go back and visit The Villas at Apoyo and get away from it all. Surprisingly, many are not aware of the breathtaking Laguna de Apoyo. If you are a lover of nature you are sure to love staying at The Villas at Apoyo and enjoy all the natural beauty that this place has to offer. Thank you to the staff of The Villas at Apoyo for your warm welcome and for making our experience one to never forget. While you are there, ask about Coco Berry Spa Wellness by Daniela Prego, this spa is located in the city of Granada, just 15 minutes away from the Laguna de Apoyo and they offer spa services to the Villas at Apoyo.

The Laguna de Apoyo has to be one of the most spectacular places in all of Nicaragua and your appreciation of it is of course,, deeply appreciated!

Our resort has gone through some incredible changes over the last few years. From its inaugural opening in 2006 until the closure in July, 2008 only two short years later, the hotel was a gem that became tarnished to the point of not being recognizable. Then, in 2009, came a new management concept and a special financial committment from the various owners of all the individual villas that make up the hotel.

The result was an incredible reinvestment in the idea that has now become The Villas at Apoyo. The hotel is now a 'Must See" destination in one of the most pristine lakes in Central America. We still make mistakes and we still have room for improvement, but it is a work in progress in a dense jungle and we are working closely with the inviroment and the many troups of Howler Monkeys that roam our 40 acres all day long!

We are proud to be here and proud to serve you.

thank you so much for your comments.

What a surprise, in the middle of nowhere we found ourselves a little jewel! Our villas were truly on a mountainside with the most amazing views. The lake was magic and you could pick up pumice stones right on the beach. There were 8 of us traveling Nicaragua and this is one stop that gave us time to decompress, enjoy the beauty, the monkeys and the solitude. The poolside restaurant had the best nachoes we have ever eaten and a Mango pie that you would not believe. The staff was friendly (except they would not divulge the mango pie recipe!) and went out of their way to insure our stay was the best possible. We will be sure to tell our other adventurous friends about this gem.

Room Tip: Ask for a villa above the pool, the view is spectacluar

Thank you for your kind comments and thank you for keeping me out of trouble with our chef by not giving away the recipe of our mango pie! It is not for sale ! Unless you buy it a piece at a time at The Grill Poolside Restaurant ! But remember that dessert is seasonal and you might not get it when you come back, and I do hope you'll come back - even if we dont' have it on the menu!

Make sure you let me know when you return and you are invited to dine at The Grill and enjoy lunch or dinner on me!

The service at the Villas at Apoyo is always first rate all the employees are superb. They always treat me in very special personalized manner. I am always made to feel welcomed and appreciated, every single employee goes out of their way to pamper us whenever we stay over. I love the magnificent views and the room accomodations are always very pleasant and very clean.

Every time we stay over we leave very well rested and extremely satisfied; I only have rave reviews for this establishment. I recomend this property for a very unique and peaceful experience.

Thank you for your acknowledgement! The Villas have gone through a tremendous change in the last few years with new managment, renovations and a completely different concept . All those changes so suddenly has propelled us into the local spot light and here in Nicaragua, it is a sink or swim situation and we have been swimming against the current for many, many years. However, with all that we have worked at, the current is weakening and the swimming has become easier. Your comments are part of the current, either good or bad and the good ones act like life preservers and hold us up out of the water to guarantee us another full breath of fresh air.

thank you ever so much.
