We visited with 6 adults and 4 children, and it was like a dream for all of us. Well, the place is just beautiful, the panorma makes you feel in another world, the garden is huge, the apartments are cosy, beautifully furnished and with all facilities. The breakfast room is spacious and you can actually use it all day long. And, the owners are wonderful people, very friendly and helpful. The location is just perfect and you can easily visit so wanderful villages around, Siena, the outlet, etc. What to say, wish we were there now...

We have visited Sant Alessandro numerous times over the years and always look forward to going back. From the time we arrive to the time we leave, the hospitality of the owners is fantastic. This is a very relaxing place to stay and would highly recommend staying there if you are visiting the Tuscan region and wanting to go about on your own itinerary. Ideally a rented car is the preferred means of travel here. The farmhouse location (2.5 hrs from Rome Airport) is excellent in that many of the main attractions in the Tuscan region are within 1hr drive. The scenic country roads here are well paved and plenty of directional signs so no fear of getting lost. If you miss your cut off, not to worry you'll pick it up at the next cutoff which directs you to your destination. Throw the maps away! Asciano the nearby village (8km) is ideal for basic shopping and banking. The 5 apartments on the complex have well equipped kitchens for anyone wishing to try their own Tuscan cooking. A communal kitchen on the complex is available for guests to mingle and chat over breakfast. As well, the owners are always willing to suggest restaurants for guests wishing to eat out. Some apartments also have laundry washing machines for guests who pack light. There are no farm animals here but just landscape surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. A Very Quiet Tuscan country setting without the typical hotel service atmosphere. An escape from the tourist trappings. Spring (May-June) or Fall (Sept-Oct) are the ideal times for weather and tourist congestion. The summer months can get quite hot, humid, and busy with tourists which can make it somewhat uncomfortable to visit the Tuscan towns. We always make an effort to catch the wine festivals in the various village towns which occur in June and Sept.. as well as visiting the local wineries which are in great abundance for superb wine tasting. The local food cuisine here is excellent. Shop where the locals shop and you will not be disappointed. Not the place to come if your looking for a Big Mac& Fries! We always look forward to coming back not only to revisit some favourite sites but to experience new sites and festivals as well as much needed rest from the North American robotic day-day grind.

The most wonderful hosts, from start to finish. Enthusiastic, happy, eager to help in anyway - nothing is too big or small for them, from Carlo & Carmela, to Patti & Nona..Francesco, Valeria.
Beautiful breathtaking views - best sunset in the world. Plenty of daytrips within easy distance - Siena, Assisi, Cortona....swimming pool actually heals some skin problems it is all so 'green' & enfironmentally friendly.
Cant wait to get back there. Children love it, it's safe and they can run freely all day.

In the middle of rolling Tuscan hills. Spectacular views. Good base for touring; in our week, we went to Siena, montepulciano, Rome, cortona and Florence.
Accommodation faultless and well equipped. Good sized pool which the children (and adults) enjoyed. Helpful hosts.
Highly recommended

We visited Podere Sant'Alessandro with my girlfriend to explore Tuscany for 5 days before going to Sardinia. From the arrival we were extremely pleased with everything. Except for the first afternoon when children of some Polish guests made quite a noise, it was like a heaven's place on earth. Quiet, romantic, set beautifully on a hill side above a small volley and with it's own vineyard!
The apartment was big enough and everything was clean and so was the pool, where most of the time we were alone. It is such a nice thing to swim a bit in the pool, than go few meters to take some sweet figs directly from the tree and sit on the pool's deckchair to have a view into the valley. Next to the pool there is a barbecue and arbour fully to guests' disposition so you do not need to go to restaurant each night.
The location is very good as well, most the very known Tuscan towns are north from the location (Siena the closest one, 30 minutes drive; Voltera, San Gimignano and Chianti area 1 hour, Florence 90 minutes) but even if you go south you will find not that touristic but the same beautiful tows like Montepulciano (the best wine there) and Pienza. The closest "bigger" town is Asciano, also beautiful and about 10 minutes drive.
The owner Franchesco and his girlfriend are nice and helpful persons who speak decent English.
This was a great stay at Podere Sant'Alessandro with nothing negative to say. Maybe only breakfast can be a bit better but that's just because we were in similar accommodation on Sardinia afterwards where the breakfast was excellent (better served, more fruits and vegetables, more choices).

Great place, great holiday! This place is ideal for relaxation as it is away from the hustle and bustle of city traffic, yet close enough to most of the great cities like Siena, Firenze, San Gimignano etc. Yet, what makes the place great to stay in are the hosts, making every effort to make you feel at home. They even organised a great barbeque for all the guests to celebrate my birthday - thank you all. This was my second visit, and I will be back again.
