Due to an injury I had to reschedule our travel plans just a week before we left. So I "accidentally" found this B&B and we really loved it.
When we arrived we were greeted by the bull. ;-) John opened the door and welcomed us with tea and cookies in the guests living room.
Balachladaich (rocky shores) is a brand new B&B, furnished and decorated with attention to detail and to ensure a pleasant and homely atmosphere: harris tweed, soft cotton linen, local showering gel and tea and coffee in your room accompanied by some homemade butter fudge.
An amazing surprise was our own balcony with a stunning view on Loch Ness.
Fiona and John are really doing there utmost best to give you a warm welcome, give a good advise and explain about the "Ness"environment and Scotland.
I am a vegetarian and there was actually only one cooked vegetarian breakfast: Scottish breakfast. As I ate this already in the previous B&B's I asked if she could change the mushroom option into an vegetarian option and she made a real delicious mushroom with cheese and tomato. Yummy.
And of course there were several non-cooked option as yoghurt, cereals, berries ...
The price is in UK-terms a good value, compared to our home country, a little expensive.
As we are not so into the British kitchen we asked for an Indian restaurant and got the advise of Rajah in Inverness, which is really worth a visit. They serve so delicious Indian food.
We felt so relaxed and at home, although we stayed just one night.
