I have stayed at this hotel before when it first opened and it wasn't quite set up for all inclusive.
So there have been minor improvements mainly in the dining and also now in the daily entertainment.
Room was clean and tidy and kept that way by staff for 6 out 7 day stay.
Dining was OK breakfast was usual 3 star Spanish style pretend bacon and funny little sausages fried eggs are cooked as you like in open kitchen area (along with freshly made pancakes) plus points
Evening meal was usually quite good and was always edible. In the open kitchen steaks etc were cooked to order.
Pool area was clean but beds were in need of replacing as some were more hammock like.
Staff were always polite and friendly and eager to please.
reception is well managed and not to long a wait
Returning. Yes in 2017
The hotel overall is 3 star but with 4/5 star approach and I can't speak too highly of the staff .
WiFi is snail fi be advised
Beautiful beaches 80 yds
I always hire a car in Fuerte as rates are very good, but buses are frequent in Cotillo.

Room tip: Best rooms are upstairs over reception

Cotillo Beach hotel has been our little gem over many years & have rated it above its 3 star rating in the past.
For us the location in the little harbour village with its fantastic surfing beach & lagoon beaches for the more chilled of us has & still remains our favourite winter haunt.
The hotel staff, Maria,s in reception & Sara in the pool bar & restaurant made our stay memorable with their laughter & professionalism.
The rooms as always are basic but clean as is the common areas around the hotel
We felt the quality of the food was not as good as previous years & approached the manager who listened to our concerns
This was taken note of & some salad offerings appeared on the breakfast counter after that
Overall we feel it merited its 3 star rating & are still considering rebooking in October this year
Thanks too all the staff they were great.

Our 2nd trip to Cotillo Beach. Some recent reviewers have said the food choice and quality has deteriorated and the rooms a little shabby. I would agree with these comments although still think the hotel is outstanding value for money. The food during our last visit (August 2015) included a fresh pasta dish each night by the chef at the cooking station with the option of a veggie or meat based sauce. This is no longer available replaced by a fried meat dish every night. Can't comment on the quality of this as we never ate it. The only veggie option was a buffet pasta dish with the same tomato sauce every night. We ate out 4 of the nights but we like a bit of variety of heading out. Breakfast and lunches are still ok although the 'snacks' in the pool bar are diabolical, cold chips and stale pastries from breakfast were the size of it. The Italian animation team 'Eden Village' are no longer at the complex giving the place a much more peaceful and laid back feel. No more blaring music over the pool which is an improvement in my opinion. Although their replacement is a couple with a laptop in the bar of an evening. The rooms are still spotless but showing a little wear and tear which could be easily fixed with a little attention. We found the pool area clean and still a nice place to spend the day. The pool was freezing being April so we weren't in it! We hired a car one cloudy day (50€) and went on the buggy tour (69€ per buggy) which was brilliant. Both available to book at Cotillocar attached to the hotel. I would still recommend this hotel as the price we paid was about the same as a self catering would have been. I think next time we go we'll try somewhere different but wouldn't discount Cotillo Beach in the future.

Great hotel, great location and the best staff who deserve a special mention - they really made my stay great. I tried the all-inclusive deal just before peak season. On arrival I asked for a seaview room and the receptionist was kind enough to oblige - you can't stay in Cotillo without seeing the magnificent sunrises/sunsets! The restaurant had a great variety of food including tasty local dishes, all the fresh food and fruit I wanted, fresh fish and delicious homemade soup everyday. I wanted to have a healthy relaxing break and that's exactly what I did. Booked 3 massage sessions with recommended top local Therapist David (appt 00 3 4611 346079), did the free outdoor yoga in the mornings by the lovely swimming pools and went to the Nature Reserve lagoons beach 5mins away. Bike & surfboard hire everywhere. Checkout the white hotel cats too. All-in-all it's spacious, clean, comfortable, relaxed vibe, great seletion of healthy food and really great Staff = Chilled Bliss.

The food was lovely the location is perfect and the staff were amazing everyone was very friendly the rooms were lovely and cleaned daily . The rooms we stayed in were nice although we were missing a bath plug and the tv screen had a slight line on it. After spending many years holidaying in El Cotillo in apartments i found the all inclusive way to be the best value for money. I will do exactly the same again however i would stay for 10 days as a week is not long enough
