We were here 6 years ago and this was the first beach we visited this time around. Having a beach and lagoon just for the two of us is just great. Whilst the big breakers 200 yards away bounce on the volcanic rocks you can have a lagoon with nearly quiet water. Unbelievable " a must see for naturist's and "normal" people alike!!

Loved the lagoons. We had a great lunch in a restaurant that a taxi driver recommended. We went from Corralejo to el Cotillo only for the restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised with the Lagoons.
Ideal to go when is not windy.

El Cotillo
This place is presented as the last non-tourist place in Fuerteventura. It is said that you should visit there before it gets spoiled by tourists.
The problem is, however, that there seems to be nobody in El Cotillo! A single restaurant was open when we went there. The beaches are sandy mixed with stones. The only beach where you can get into the water was splattered with windshields. There tourists hid themselves from evil eyes. There is a small restaurant at the beach. If there are any toilets, I cannot tell.

Buses go there every hour, except in the middle of the day. So, if you want to go back in the afternoon, be aware of the bus schedule.

From South to North they extend for several miles, ranging from areas suitable for surfing to lovely little bays where the children can play in the sand

Nice beach and rock pools where I could entertain the kids. Some parts of the beach are exposed to rough see but the calm lagoons are ideal for children.

We visited twice during our stay.

Be warned our hire car was broken into whilst parked in the car park. Although I was later advised by hire company Fiat Panda's are vulnable across the Island.

I would also recomend visiting the nearby harbour for lunch.
