Though I fancied a steak, was talked into trying the fish and what a great move that was. Probably the best meal we have had this holiday - so far - to the point that we have booked again to relive the whole experience all over again on New Year's Day.

The Vaca Azul, was incredible. The food, was truly remarkable, the most tastiest and freshest fish I have ever had. The service was so brilliant, they had great advice and knowledge about the menu and what's was on offer. Overall just the bet place you could eat at in el cotillo.

The restaurant has a wonderful location and beautiful views of the sea and village. We were staying just behind the restaurant in a lovely apartment for 2 weeks. This was the worst meal we had in our 2 week stay. We put off going in because we didn't see any inspiring food coming out as we passed by every night. Eventually we decided we had to go in, the reputation and reviews said it was great, we had to be missing something!
It was a great disappointment and from comments we heard that night the same for many others. I asked for fresh grilled fish and was recommended something I didn't know by the waiter...... OK he's local and should know what he's talking about! The fish I had was certainly not fresh and not appetising, not even hot. The calemares we had also was not cooked at a high enough temp to be even crispy and was just of the round variety from a frozen packet, not a tentacle to be seen! The house white wine was good and a reasonable price. Just as we were paying our bill a wonderful and expensive local delicacy appeared for a nearby table, a salt baked fish. The waiter hacked his way into it with a flourish......but it looked dry and awful and no steam or smell came out whatsoever. I was glad I hadn't paid for it.
Am I missing someting, we love fish and seafood but this place didn't seem to do it well. Other reviews are wonderful. Be careful here, perhaps if you know what to order it might be good for you, but it wasn't for us on the night of our visit.

monsieur,
cordialement
mr claude
