We have just returned from these lovely apartments, which we have been going to over the last 10 years off and on, these are such lovely peaceful apartments , and run by the lovely Omar, the minute you step out on the lovely balcony and look at the beautiful view along the most fabulous beach, all your stresses if any just fall away.
The apartments are everything you need , and spotlessly clean and have now been renovated and look really good and very comfortable.
If you want a totally relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle then this is the place to be, a car required to get there , but once there everything is in walking distance, there is a lovely restaurant along the road , a small beach cafe , and even the supermarket is not far away, though would buy. your water off Omar to safe your arms.
There is a bakers just along the road , which sell fabulous bread and pastries and the coffee is superb, you can walk into the old harbour were there are lovely restaurants with great views Or round to the newer harbour were there are a few more restaurants, again with a lovely view.
El cotillo is a sleepy fishing village with a very slow pace of life, which is so relaxing and the days are just so relaxing , if you want a change one day the buses are regular from the village to Corralejo.
Life in El Cotilo at the sunset apartments are what every one needs if you want a really chilled out holiday and to come back relaxed and ready to take the world on, the views, the apartments and the helpful staff are all to be praised, and we look forward to returning again as soon as possible

It is now week since we returned from our twelve days at Sunset apartments and all we can is it was super. All the reviews previously are true, Omar is very helpful can't do enough to sort things out. Yes the one room apartment is basic but it is clean, you get clean linen every couple of days. We will return. I was pleased to have taken a small travel kettle great for that cup of tea in the morning,

Lets start by saying this place is not going to be to everyone's taste.
There is no entertainment, bar, restaurant, disco or kids club.
It's a basic, self catering block of apartments that sit slap bang on the beach.
However, if you do not require the all inclusive trappings then read on.
The apartments are clean, tidy, spacious and functional. There was everything we required for the week, when the Mrs noticed that there was no hair drier she simply went to reception and Omar (very helpful manager) provided her with a brand new one, still in its box.
We had an upstairs room with views over both the pool and the beach/lagoons so got the best of both worlds. What makes this place so appealing to us is the location and the peace/tranquillity.
Step out of the back gate (opens using a key for security) and you are on the beach. A beautiful lagoon in front which is safe, calm and not too crowded. If you walk to the right, when exiting, then there are other sandy bays, some even less busy. The sand is clean and fine. Naturists and textiles mingle together in harmony and if you are considering a naturist holiday for the first time then this is an ideal location, no one batters and eyelid.
If you need anything then a two minute walk and your back in your apartment.
A nice 10 minute walk back into the village and there are plenty of very good restaurants which are not too expensive.
It can get windy, so we take a lightweight, fold up, beach shelter which works great as a wind break and somewhere to leave our belongings when nipping back to the apartment for lunch.
I think the other reviews cover everything else.
Going back another two times this year, so must be good.

Room Tip: Beach side rooms are lovely but the sand gets everywhere.

As visitors have said before, this is an excellent reasonably priced block of apartments, right on the beach of El Cotillo .

Simple accommodation, clean, comfortable twin beds (that you can put together to make a double bed) Good sized shower with hairdryer provided. Personal safe in the room as well.Large wardrobe with plenty of hangers. Nice kitchenette area, with a two ring hob, microwave and fridge We had room 28 on the upper floor, which over looked the pool and also a view of the lagoon, so best of both worlds. Very quiet around the pool and was also slightly protected form the incessant strong winds, that blow around the island 24/7. Reception is open a couple of times during the day, with friendly staff. Where you can purchase wine and water, so no need to lug these items from the supermarket at the other end of town. Maid service most days, kept us stocked up on toilet rolls etc.The accommodation is situated right on the beach, which was lovely for easy access to the volcanic rock shelters that have been built for your protection from the howling wind! The lagoon is sheltered and has lot's of rock pools to explore at low tide and brilliant for snorkeling over at high tide.
El Cotillo, is a non tourist fishing village, with some lovely restaurants and bars. No real tacky gift shops, yippee! Car hire, bike hire, surf/kite schools' fabulous beaches with plenty to watch with the surfers and kite surfers. Interesting lighthouse, we hired bikes and cycled out to this and looked at the, small museum about the islands fishing industry.

Would we go back to this accommodation, yes but probably not due to the windy climate. The accommodation is spot on. thank you.

Room Tip: Room 28, not in the front block where you pay a premium, but on the upper floor looking over the poo...

TA can't read our reviews - this is and always has been self-catering as I said in my previous review.
We have always loved staying here and on returning recently found it as delightful as ever. The other reviews sum it up well, so I will just mention what they do not. The increased prices this time now include use of the safe, so are actually minimal. Unlike most Cotillo properties, this includes maid service (usually 5/7 days) and 2 linen changes per week. Kitchen facilities include microwave with grill but not oven; coffee machine but not kettle; hand citrus juicer and enough cooking and dining basics. If anything is missing, ask Omar and he will get it for you. I usually take my rubber gloves, travel kettle and a favourite kitchen knife.
We tried a downstairs sea view apartment this time; the room is the same but outside you get more space so can have 2 sun loungers without being crowded. There is also a shaded area with table and chairs under the upstairs balcony - useful on a hot day and for those who burn. There are now privacy screens separating each apartment's terrace. The sea and sunset views are almost as good as upstairs, but on a very windy day it is harder to sit in the sun with the same shelter that a balcony wall gives. I hope this helps you decide which to choose.

Room Tip: It is worth the bit extra for a sea view room, but book early as they go fast.

Right quick point of order if you don't like being blasted by the ceaseless wind in Fuerteventura then this may be the place for you. I recommend the beach facing apartments as the view of the lagoon is inspirational, however sunbath on your balcony or run for one of the rock shelters on the beach as the wind was merciless whilst we we there. I really like Cotillo it has a nice slightly unspoilt feel at moment although the arrival of places like the Cotillo Beach Hotel round the corner means that the chav or Daily Express readers will soon arrive and ruin this location. The hotel does have a pool but it unheated I was aware of this before booking but given its a year round location it would be nice to be heated, there is a hot tub though which was useful. The rooms are clean and tidy and cleaned most days, the shower room area is separate and modern but the showers often barely got above luke warm. The kitchen area was adequate and had everything you needed except a corkscrew! We did unfortunately have a cock roach in the room one night but chased it out and it never had one again believe it came in under sizable gap under door. Omar was friendly but reception hours are limited please note this is your flying at random times or Sundays. Parking was relatively easy outside and the hotel was located in away from the main part of town. Cotillo currently feels safe and friendly even on a night and doesn't suffer from touts, tack shops and lager louts; it remains for the moment a nice locals / surfers town with good restaurants and a smattering of bars. Please go to Corelejo instead if you want a standard Canaries holiday

Room Tip: Go for beach front

It is situated on the beach. Nearby is a good chill beachrestaurant. We had a nice small studio, swimming pool view. Wifi outside around swimming pool and at reception. Quiet relaxing place. Omar was very helpful. The last day we could stay for free until evening for our flight. Nearby good italian restaurant Sottovento and for lunch bakery El Goloso. Much better location than the Cotillo Beach hotel (outside not nice, not at beach and the bar outside La Terraza looked awful, not attracted to go inside).
La Marisma good spanish and fish restaurant, nice location, but on the other side (west) of the village (near Castillo del Cotillo or el Toston) spanish restaurant El Roque de los pescadores certainly as good and prices little lower. Next door Aguayre nice for lunch and special healthy juices.
The Shockwavesurfschool is really recommended!
