“Worth a Visit ....”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

I have been going to Cotillo for 22 years and had until last month only eaten in this restaurant once before. On that visit, it was not a good experience, mainly due to it being full of smokers. I don't know why we never returned since the smoking ban. However, we did last month and had a beautiful meal. The service was very good from start to finish - very friendly and a nice relaxed atmosphere. So if like us, you have not eaten here for a very long time - give it a try !!!

“Best meal of the week”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

We ate at La Marisma on our last and second to last night of the hotel, the second sitting was even better than the first.
Fresh fish caught on the day was recommended by the waiter a different one each night, it was grilled with garlic and seasoned perfectly, a wine was also excellently recommended both nights.
A complimentary class of cava on entry is a nice touch, not my personal choice with fish but went well with the complimentary starter also.
The restaurant is nicely set out and decorated, and better than the other local establishments.

“We wished we had returned sooner”
Reviewed February 1, 2013 via mobile

On a quiet January night out, our two first choices of places to eat were closed and we decided to try La Marisma where we had eaten on our first trip to El Cotillo, 8 years earlier.

I only wish we had returned sooner, the best food of the holiday, great service from friendly staff, we will return next year

“Our favourite in El Cotillo”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

We recently ate twice at Marisma with friends who live in El Cotillo. They think that Marisma is the best restaurant in El Cotillo and the best value. After eating in most restaurants in the village, we agree. So do local Majoreros (people from Fuerteventura), who come from Corralejo and Puerto Rosario to eat there.
Other posters are correct that the fish is fantastic and very fresh. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about them and offer very good advice. They have a good selection of very good wines at reasonable prices. It is a shame that they have no view, but that does not matter at night.

“The best seafood I have ever had”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

We arrived in El Cotillo before mid-day and happened upon this fantastic restaurant. The staff were very accommodating and from the open plan dining area with fresh fish on display to the extraordinary food served, the island is worth a return visit simply for this restaurant's flavoursome paella and battered parrot fish fillets!
