“Great sunset views”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

We stayed in a villa El Cotillo very close to the restaurant and we visited the Azzurro three times during the week we stayed there. We were a party of eight and we just turned up without booking and they coped with us admirably. The food was excellent each time we visited and there was a good selection on the menu. I can reccommend the two choices of paella, superb for two people. The steaks were also cooked exactly as our group wanted. The staff were brilliant and on our last night there we had hugs and kisses as we left. For an average of €25 each, including plenty of wine, we were well fed and we are looking forward to going back there to enjoy the food and ambience, and the lovely staff.

“Dining with a view”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Situated to the north of El Cotillo on the road to the Lighthouse, diners get wide views of this beautiful stretch of coast with its white sandy beaches and blue lagoons. We dined here three times in a week, and appreciated the warm welcome from the Staff. On our third visit there was live music. Food served is a mixture of Canarian, Spanish and Italian. Recommended the Tagliatelli with prawns and mushrooms served in a Parmesan Nest. Desserts are home made. House Red is very drinkable

“26 meals - All Good”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

We hired the villa next door to Azzurro for a week - there were eight of us and we ate here 3 times and on our last night we took two friends along too so all in all we had 26 meals there so gave the menu a good work-out including some starters and puds. Not one bad meal amongst them.

We particularly liked the Gambas al Ajillo, Fish Livornese, Steaks, Paella and homemade Lasagne. The accompanying veg or salad were more like a garnish than a side dish though so if you want a decent portion order a seperate side dish. Having said that no one went hungry.

It's obviously popular but we were eating well after sunset (in February it sets about 6pm) and were accommodated without fuss despite being a large party and not having a booking.

One evening we were treated to a fabulous side show of geckos having their dinner of moths, another evening we had live entertainment.

Worth travelling to although we only had a five minute walk.

“The best restaurant and setting in the north of Fuerteventura”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

My partner and I travelled to Fuerteventura for two weeks in February 2013, eating out every evening at a different restaurant in and around the north of the island. Azzurro tops the bill hands down with regards to quality of food, friendliness of staff and a superb westerly facing terrace to add a beautiful sunset to everything else this restaurant offers.

The owner, Ricki, is Italian and this is very much a family business, with his mother and other members of the family making fresh pasta on site (get that goats cheese and fig ravioli permanently on the menu Ricki), I never wanted that dish to end! Superb. The fresh fish, prawns, mussels etc are to die for and I have to say Azzurro was our choice for our last sunset and evening meal. This a very family friendly place too with a lovely selectioin for children if you are travelling with little ones. The generosity of the staff is magnificent, nothing is too much trouble. A special thanks also to Fabio for your wit, charm and for making us feel as though Azzurro was a home from home.

Outstanding selection of wines too if you are partial to a tipple and the desserts with the dessert wine ....my oh my!

Keep up the great work and we hope to see you all again soon!
