Although we have a villa on mar Menor this was our first new year at the resort. I have to say we had a incredible night bringing in the new year twice Spanish and English time. The atmesphere and the overall feel for the night made it quite special. Chris the dj kept the dance floor busy all night and the balloons and poppers and grapes at midnight was just the start of the evening as we went on till gone 4am. New Year's Day we had a help yourself brunch at the hotel. Which was much needed to help get over the hangovers. I am sure that you cannot beet a traditional knees up for New Year and would recamend the Clover Bay any day . Can I thank all the nice people that were there that might for making it so special.

i was here last week. It was very busy and we had no problems getting served with food or drink. the young waitress was very nice to us and helped us with our spanish. there are large groups of golfers ordering very large rounds so its always going to be hit or miss about getting served. when it was busy we always went to the bar and got served. We ate there once. It was a bit pricey for run of the mill food but we were starving and it tasted ok! They didnt have fish for 2 days on the complex which seems odd for Spain!
prices are average for the hotel. Obviously cheaper at the strip outside hotel buts its a 20 minute walk (for us anyway) from there. You could drive but youre drinking!

Not an Irish Bar.
Hospitable welcoming and good for the Craig, this is not.
Staff miserable, drinks overpriced. Very similar to the "Irish bar" on La Torre. RUBBISH....

Would give overall rating zero but it won't let me.

There is no doubt this bar is convenient but it is under-staffed and the food is expensive and awful. The Intercontinental hotel really don't care about the pressure they put their staff under or the quality of food they offer their customers from this bar. Often the bar, terrace and food service was being provided by 1 person and the maximum was 4. Dreadful ! Nice to have a drink if you've got time to sit waiting for service but don't waste your money on food.

Service poor, attitude of staff bad, prices for drinks are made up as you go, eg Bacardi and coke plus Jack Daniels and coke, €12.80, this then went up €15.80 when served by someone else, when challenged was told abruptly that this was the price. A ten minute walk down the road to the Mombasa Cafe and the same drinks were €6 from Monday to the Thursday. Needless to say I didn't go back to the clover and won't again
