“The bar that customer service forgot”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

Setting - in the Intercontinental Hotel - is great, but this place makes Fawlty Towers look like Claridges. Staff treat customers as if they are The Enemy. You will wait forever then, if you're brave enough to ask a waitress where your food might be, are treated like you have ruined her week.

“Dreadful place to eat...”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

I am a resident at Mar Menor Golf, and before that visited a number of times.
it must be said that the food in the Clover Bar is dreadful. The menu in my opinion is primarily frozen, and is then microwaved or deep fried to within an inch of it's life before being delivered.
service is always ok, but the staff seem totally oblivious to the awful food they're serving.
Nice place for a drink after golf, but the food is a lot better in the Club House just across the other side of the pool...

“Failure”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

Ok for a drink if you ignore the staff!

Service very poor, rude and ignorant servers

Soap dispenser in Mens toilet empty for 2 days - does this just go to show how often the male staff wash their hands?

Food dreadful, poor descriptions - spiced potatoes (starter) turned out to be McCain frozen potato wedges - and a whole dinner plate full at that!!!! Starter of Mozzarella sticks served with - wait for it - CHIPS?????? Then chips again for a main course?????? but then isn't there some history between the irish and potatoes?

Failure to clear vacated tables even when quiet, when they do, tables are not cleaned properly

Ignored at bar several times
Staff chatting to friends at the expense of customers

Management really do need to look at this place, it really does let down the very lovely Intercontinental Hotel

“We don't do Service”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

We ended going here after visiting a place called Route 66 that was very good when we came in March, Now we are back in August and New Owners in 66 and very bad so we go and visit The Clover and wow what a waste of money, The serves was non-existent, just to get drinks took forever then to get our orders taken took what seemed like a month, They then brought our starters and the main course at the same time. We told them to take the Mains back and low and behold we got the same food back did not even get nuked was luke warm. The people sitting next to us orders deserts and they never came so we paid and left. We will not be going back as we found a place called Flavour 2 just ask it a good place not far.
