If you are bored with typical hill station visits of going to view points, boating, mall roads and just want to relax this is place to be..cute little town ..with very less visitors ..and a complete relaxation..
Even boating at Naukuchiatal..will be very relaxing ..as there will not be too many tourist..
Ideal place for picnic..small getaway

It is said..that if you are able to see all 9 corners of the lake..you become either a king or pauper.Locals told us ..that Indira Gandhi was able to see all 9..

I was able to see eight..do take your turn..who knows you can become next rich king :)

naukuchiatal is one of the most picturesque of all the lakes in this area and offers great options for adventure activities.

ideal place to relax with family and friends for 3-7 days. in coparison to the other main stream hill stations naukuchiatal stands out as a far better getaway

The one quiet joint around this area cried from the top of the most popular hotel lawns at highest possible decibels last week when the Escape Festival of Art and Music was celebrated.

Of course ours was a last moment planning and by the time we landed up - the room offered to us was one little dingy dark pigeonhole with no eletricity. So we scouted further - and just before the end of the road, round the corner of Naukuchiatal we found this small comfortable double bed-room "hotel" by the road - if you want a lavish stay - don't dare check in.

But if you are a single traveller, happy with a clean toilet, not so fast running tap water, clean towels and bedsheets - then this is the place - oh yes - do not expect fresh brewed coffee - but a strong instant coffee is available at the jiffy - one needs to just ask.

Loved this place - the caretaker "Dipu" really takes care !!

While I know the title of my review of this place does not do justice to the lake directly, it explains how peaceful this place is. Part of the 'lake district' of Nainital, this lake is the most serene, peaceful, clean, accessible lakes in the area. A lot of people prefer to hop by Naukuchiatal (nine cornered lake) and station some place else, but I prefer to stay here and explore the area. Yes, there's the typical boating and seasonal paragliding, but this lake is best for sitting on the lake shore and relaxing, taking short walks by the shore, hiking up the hills and enjoying the calm of this are. I have stayed at both KMVN resorts, viz., Parichay and Naukuchiatal, but the former has a very good access to the lake shore (few feet below the resort) where you can get marvellous views of the lake if the lake is still. The latter resort is right on the lake, so you can probably 'dive right in' check with the resort authorities though before you do that. If you have your own transport drive/ride up the hill road towards Jangliya village to a view point ~8.2km from the lake for a fantastic view of the lake and surrounding valley. Then spend the rest of your day visiting other lakes in the area (if you still want to)...Nainital is about 40km from here and has a lot more to do if you're inclined in that direction. The best part of Naukuchiatal is that it is very clean (compared to other lakes in the area), partly because there are signs all around the lake put up by the locals advising tourists to keep the lake clean, so I hope those reading this review strive to keep it that way. Encourage local produce, carry your garbage home, Please!

The boating options are good. You can do Kayaking out here which is not there in Bhimtal and Nainital lakes. The rates are on higher side than nainital. Its much beautiful in nainital lakes also..
I think if you prefer the quiet experience then go boating here, for a much commercial experience go to nainital.
