“Small but good food”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

We ate twice at Estacion 4 in Bubion. On both occasions the food was excellent and the waitress Gemma was brilliant. Free tapas to start, starter large enough to share (goats cheese and walnut salad) and good quality main (we had lamb casserole and veg lasagne). Wonderful desserts to finish (pears in wine and chocolate mousse). Local wine and coffees. All for about £25 per head. The restaurant is well away from the main road and there is also a shop. The premises are very small but at the time we went this wasn't a problem.

“Delicious, filling local dishes, for foodies and families”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

A wonderful place, and definitely worth looking for. (See below.) In fact it's worth coming to Bubion just to eat at the Estacion 4. This was one of the best meals I had in Spain.

Great for foodies looking for substantial traditional local dishes (I had a sort of stew - it was in December - but I can't remember the name) and also, judging from other tables, for Spanish families, especially ones with hungry children.

I'm pretty sure the ingredients are all local too.

There are only two problems. One is that it's very small (just one downstairs room, with an arched white ceiling, old red tiles on the floor and rickety old tables and chairs), so ring up and book, particularly in the high season.

The other is that it's a bit difficult to find. (There is a sign in the little square before you get to the restaurant, but it's not clear what alley it's meant to be pointing up - I didn't understand it anyway) You just have to ask, or come with a map. Searching gives an edge to the appetite though, so you end up enjoying your food even more.

Slightly more expensive than a common or garden ordinary restaurant, but very definitely worth it.
