If you want a standard "refurbished" hotel experience, this is not for you. If instead you like character, comfort, and a friendly family atmosphere, then consider Finial House. Comfortable, huge room with a view of the garden, and in the morning a freshly cooked breakfast. Fran even sorted out a booking at a local pub for our evening meal.

A most friendly welcome in this lovely Cotswold village old rectory now,and for many years, a much loved family home. Peter,Francesca and their son could not have been more helpful and friendly to complete strangers. The house and its contents are time-warp and a delight. Be sure to see the dolls' house and the rocking horse in the dining room. Delicious cooked breakfast with home made bread to die for.

You never know what you are going to get with a B & B but this is something else! The people who own it (Peter and Fran) have the most amazing home - a sort of faded elegance in which you feel really special as you become one of their family. We have stayed in so many B and Bs where everything is pre-packaged but so nice to have home made treats. They have gone to a lot of trouble to make it something special and let's face it, if it's throwing it down, its so nice to have somewhere where you feel so welcome rather than it's just a bed for the night!
