Great food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly welcome, beautiful surroundings and good value for money - what more could anyone ask for? Have eaten here on more than one occasion and have never been disapointed.

“So full I could pop!!!”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

We booked a table in advance due to the amazing reviews this place has had. The table was in a lovely area of the restaurant, close enough to others to feel the atmosphere but private enough for our family meal. The menu was,if anything, to good! It took me a while to chose as there was so much variety. The food came out quickly and was all immaculately present. We were asked various times throughout the meal if we needed anything else. The staff were all delightful, nicely presented and friendly. We even got a happy birthday song sung by them! All in all it is one of the best experiences eating out I have had in the Swindon area.

“Overpriced”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

Lovely food, attentive and quick service but a little overpriced for the size of the portions. Restaurant was busy but coped well. Downside was that, as one of a party of 10, I felt that we didn't really have enough table space and, to be relatively comfortable, I had to straddle the legs of two different tables. Message = don't squash too many people round a table (would've been even worse if one more person in our party hadn't had to pull out at the last minute).

“top notch”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

We ( family of 4) wanted to go out for a special ocassion and based on a few positive feedbacks we`ve heard lately about five alls in Filkins we decided to give it a try. And we were so glad that we did. On arrival we were greeted by the manager of the place who made us feel very welcome right from the start. Inside there is a very cosy atmosphere , they have an open fire place and tables have quite a bit of space between them which gives you a nice feeling of privacy. Our kids can be quite loud at times but the manager knew exactly how to handle such situations . He brought up a few pencils and drawing books for them and they really enjoyed that as it kept them busy until the food came out We decided to try the vacherins of mont d`or which is a share starter for 2-3 people and that was a hit. We end up asking for more bread as we were so impressed with it and couldn`t stop eating. The portion was very generous even though it is meant to serve at least 2 people. For mains we had 2 ribeye steaks , cooked to perfection , very nice and tender , the tagine of duck breast was really nice and packed with flavours and for the youngest of our party we ordered a kids pasta which she had no trouble in finishing the whole thing. At one point we`ve heard her sayin that this was " the best pasta ever". Happy kids means happy parents. The puddings were to die for , while the kids had ice cream me and my wife decided to go for banoffee pie and the steamed chocolate pudding. By the time we finish we were so full up , i felt that we won`t need to eat again for a week. So a big thank you to the wonderful staff at the five alls, especially to the manager of the place who made the evening very pleasant for our family. We are looking forward to see you again.

“Totally Delightful”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

Having eaten and slept in all four of the super comfortable refurbished bedrooms at this stylish and cosy gastropub, I am surprised by the two previous reviews headed Terrible and Never Again.
My experiences have only been warm and welcoming and without doubt the food has always been top notch and totally delicious always served quickly by good looking smiley young staff however busy the place is.
There is a buzzy bar where locals pop in for a drink and where you can order imaginative bar food or where breakfast is laid up with pretty vintage crockery in the morning ready for a wicked cooked breakfast or simply coffee, croissants and nutty brown toast.
Moving in you come to a cosy sitting area with big sofas and a roaring fire and on into the main dining area beautifully decorated with interesting art, eclectic furniture and lovely friendly atmosphere whether it is lunch or dinner you are eating. I have had a fun girls lunch with perfect food and a romantic dinner with my husband, both equally delicious. I LOVED the ribollita soup and the pumpkin and rocket salad with goats cheese and the beef catpaccio with truffle oil is particularly moreish. The house prosecco wss particularly crisp and fruity and the wine list extensive with a very drinkable and good value house red on offer.
We have also eaten in the 'stamp room' which is just beautiful with antler wall lights and fun gilt frames without the pictures inside decorating the walls. There are two further beautiful and quirky dining areas leading on from there and both were buzzing when we had Sunday lunch there last week. Even the loos are wonderful!
All to say that we cannot wait to return again to be totally cossetted by the wonderfully gregarious and warm Lana and to chose what to eat from Sebastians delicious modern european/english
menu.
