We treated our family to a Sunday roast recently and at £14 a meal we expected something worth the money. Instead the food was cold and the potatoes were rock hard. The staff were more interested in standing behind the bar chatting and we weren’t even asked whether we enjoyed our meal. There is no ambiance either.
Unfortunately we will not be returning or recommending. What should have been an enjoyable family meal was an expensive waste of time!

Four of us visited for Sunday roast on Mother's Day. Between us we had the chicken and beef. When the food arrived we were disappointed with the fact that they were all lukewarm at best. Roast potatoes were so over cooked they were like bullets and there was very little vegetables on the plates also. At £14 for a Sunday lunch, we expected a lot better. Unfortunately this place did not deliver on quality or service. At these prices, there are much better establishments that deliver on both quality and ambiance which were both lacking at The Red Lion. Will not be returning.

Ate her on Saturday evening and the pork tenderloin & mushroom (& tarragon) pie was sublime. Washed down with some of their own brewery's ales, it was a lovely evening. Do check out their bottled beer list which - as well as their own beer - has an excellent selection of craft beers. Well-recommended.

A real ale lovers experience enjoyed by all. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of the guest beers. Only pennies more than my usual Element or COB. A good range of beers and ciders. There seemed to be more heavy ones this time but that did not spoil the overall enjoyment. Where else near home can I try a 9% ale?
There was a Rocky Road beer which replicated the marshmallow flavour precisely. Very clever these brewers.
Looking forward to the next Fest . Hopefully the doors will open earlier, say 11.00am and perhaps a few more lighter beers for wimps like me. Lol.
Well done Tom and John. A lot of hard work and very much appreciated by the punters.
