Chef Kobe's In de Wulf outclasses the rest here in Belgium. Although it's a far drive from any major city in Belgium, it's worth the drive. I will be eating here for the second time in one year, and this time will be lodging at the restaurant as well so that I can enjoy the full wine experience with the food. Last year my favorite dish was the hopshoot ravioli, absolutely amazing! The decor and feeling of the restaurant is less stuffy than other Michelin star resto's. You won't be dissapointed.

Visited In De Wulf for dinner mid week at the end of July. I had huge expectations given the hype that surrounds the food, but was let down horribly.

The locations is beautiful...rolling hills and pretty villages, and IdW is literally between farmers fields.
We were welcomed and seated in the restaurant, and thats when it went downhill. The restaurant was only half full at that stage, but the staff were running around something terribly. The kitchen staff (all young kids) actually serve the food and half of them dont seem to be sure what it was, once it eventually arrived. Perhaps if they stayed at the stove then they could get the whopping 17 courses out in a reasonable time. Waiting aaagggeeesss for a few mouthfuls of food is just not on.

I read the chefs twitter account and it seemed he was living it up in canada while his restaurant faltered. After dinner we sat in the lounge and could see all the chefs sat on the kitchen counter drinking beer. I couldnt see one over the age of 25 - this kitchen needs someone in charge i think.

The food was very hit and miss, some courses were good, and some appaling. A few herbs (too much focus on the fact they were pulled from the roadside only 5 or 50m away) do not make up for or cover up sloppy cooking. I had the neck of lamb and it was raw.

I cant believe the amount of vegetables and herbs on the plate for the price of the dinner, jsut because they are found locally doesnt justify the excessive price.

"In the Wulf", indeed, is a Michelin-starred restaurant, but my wife and I would like to give it the highest rank, i.e., "vaut le voyage". Tucked away in the idyllic "Heuvelland" (literally, "hilly area" but also name of the community in which the restaurant is located), the restaurant will surprise you with great attention of it's staff and the care paid to the highly subtle menu. Of course, everything comes at a price and also in this respect, "In the Wulf" reaches for a starred sky.

the kitchen is fantastic , very original, a cascade of flavours and smells. The small menu consists of 17, the bigger one of 20 dishes, which come in a fast stream, often presented by the cook himself. The service was good, wine list as well original and interesting.
The only deception were the room prices EUR 200 for a more than simple affair (so the beds were good).

Does it need anymore comment? It is not a coincidence this restaurant comes in the world best Top 100. The service is absolutely very nice. We didn' t like white wine, no problem for the sommelier to adapt to a red passing wine. The presentation was very nice, the tast was sublim.
Perhaps one, remark: we had bor-th enough but I can imagine that very hungry people havn't enough. I should add we took the small menu. The is no à la carte it's just the lbig or the small menu.
