WARNING! Ghent Eremytenhof (Evergem)
Do not be enticed by the pretty photographs at the website. I made that mistake and wasted one full day within our short holiday.
Unwelcoming hosts, whose main concerns were the objets d'art at the corridors. We were warned that we will have to spend "lots of money" should there be any damage to any of their items which are scattered freely all along the corridors.
The rooms - small and most of all the toilet/bathroom has no door and is open plan with the bedroom.
There is construction work going on outside.
With the "picturesque" lake, there are plenty of mosquitos. We spent the whole night, hot and without sleep, smacking mosquitoes. There was no mosquito protection provided or even a fan.
We booked into a reputed hotel the very next day for a much better weekend deal and comfortable nights.More
