Description: Welcome to The Long Apron The signature restaurant of Montville’s picturesque Spicers Clovelly Estate. The Long Apron is a dining experience that insists on a lengthy stay. Our tasting menu doesn’t change every season but when the time is right. It is an ‘organic menu’ that adjusts to the changes constantly happening around us and highlights the best of our region, seasonal European inspired dishes, which blend classic techniques and the finest local produce with exquisite results. Alongside The Long Apron is our new The Short Apron, diners can enjoy as many dishes as they wish from our seasonal A La Carte menu, offering a relaxed, fresh and zesty dining experience Our enthusiastic kitchen team are continuing to showcase the best of the Sunshine Coast’s stunning produce. We source our produce from our local growers, catchers, farmers and makers, some of which are providing bespoke ingredients for both ‘The Long Apron’ and ‘The Short Apron’ menus. The property’s garden and wild bee hives add to our sustainability commitment and emphasis on fresh and local.

My two friends and I were escorted to a a lovely table on the terrace on a perfect winter's day with the Glass Mountains visible in the distance.

The service was excellent throughout our five course meal ($105). We chose to pick from the three offerings for each course rather than the seven course degustation simply to try more of the fifteen different creations on offer.

We all thought each course improved on the last with the delightful presentation, artful use of colours & textures and sumptious flavours. With out doubt the best snail dish I have tasted and the pepper truffle moss garden for dessert a truly inspired finish!

We had a five course degustation. Every single course was exceptional - the combination of colours, textures and flavours simply superb. I did not want the evening to end. This restaurant is very special - and easily stands up to the best Sydney or Melbourne has on offer. Make no mistake - if you like very fine dining, with exquisite food and the most spectacular attention to detail - this is the one for you.

We had been a month ago and didn't feel it lived up to our expectations from other comments. Fortunately we had a discussion with the chef, Cameron, who explained that Mothers Day was not the normal day for the restaurant. Happy to come back and so pleased that we did.
This experience was what we had anticipated and ranks it amongst the best in Australia - we have been fortunate to eat at so many wonderful places in Australia and Europe and The Long Apron ranks up there - it is as good as any rural restaurant we have been to including Loam, Provenance, Fino, Dear Friends, Port Philip Dining etc. - it is a complete experience.
Whilst Cameron is an incredibly talented and creative chef, the experience though goes beyond one person.
Cameron is an amazing chef with intellect and creativity and who thinks about the textures of every dish - and every dish is different and you keep wondering how many surprises you can have in one meal. Colours, flavours, textures - a different dish to appeal to each guest. In Lynn's case, with her allergies. dessert can be a special event (or a non-event).
There are just so many sorbets and fruit salads she can eat but this team excelled - a wonderful creative dessert that will live in our memories.
It's a silly thing to say but the more courses you eat, the more you appreciate the quality and diversity - difficult to understand the variety of dishes you can have in one meal.
Perhaps though the most amazing feature is that the head chef, Cameron, was unable to be there on this Sunday. He had a personal family issue and the team carried on in his absence without the slightest hiccough, no diner would have the slightest idea. This is the sign of a very professional and talented team.
It is not just the kitchen team though - Tara in the front of house is an absolute delight - keen, enthusiastic and very knowledgebase - the perfect host to guide you through the intricacies of a diverse and creative menu.
And apart from all of the above, the setting is absolutely wonderful - although part of a "chain", a wonderful country setting in beautiful gardens - a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

We have dined at The Long Apron on numerous occasions with friends, and this never disappoints! A first class degustation menu, creatively conceived and presented, with immaculate timing between courses and superb service to boot. Seasonal menu changes are fresh and creative, and rival molecular gastronomic feats we've enjoyed elsewhere - you'd be hard pressed to find better anywhere in the south east corner. Thanks, Sam & Team, for your continued exemplary performance!

A resort with a WORLD class dinning experience. positioned with a view of the near by Sunshine Coast, in a subtropical garden.{SPECTACULAR} We were met in the car park escorted to our BOOKED table. The dinning area was not the place to bring small children. Some guests had tables in the peaceful garden, lots of birds and trees. The staff were friendly, helpful knowledgeable. The food was from the region. The Menu has three choices.
Seven course tasting, to five ,three or two fixed price choices. We had three courses, all presented a surprise for the quality and skill of chef and dinning room staff. The wine list was a carefully selected New Wold ,and European wines. This dinning experience was exceptional.
