An excellent B&B within 17 minutes by train from the centre of Amsterdam in a village with a beautiful view over a broad canal and active windmills. The house is almost next to the historical Zaanse Schans with old typical dutch houses and several active windmills (sawmill, musterdmill, pigmentmill). Plan to visit this attraction when it is quiet; So, early and before the busses full of tourist arrive. The hosts Margreet and Robert are generous. They know all about Amsterdam and are helpfull in giving you advise. After a busy day of site seeing and wondering through musea you will be happy to return to their lovely home and hospitality.

B&B River Garden is situated in the middle of that history, opposite historic 'Zaanse Schans' with views on 7 working windmills. In the close vicinity are several small but interesting musea. The spacious 'Zaan' room (25 square meters) with double bed, has a great view on the Zaanse Schans, the river 'Zaan' and the grasslands. The 'Dijk' room (15 square meters) with two single beds, overlooks the village. Between the two rooms is a spacious landing were you can sit and work.
