Very nice and spacious, clean rooms, splendid views from your balcony overlooking the river Maas, excellent food, nice surroundings for walking or biking, quiet and small scale hotel. This is one of the exceptional places where just everything is perfecly right.

Room Tip: For sure book a room with river view. Spacious and with a nice terrace overlooking the river.

Stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. The room was very large and comfortable, the bed exactly the way I like it. Also the personell was very friendly.
The Highlight was the breakfast, not buffet style but served right at the table… fresh fruit, a bread basket, cheese and meat and everything of high quality. Only pain for me, I love a good coffee from an espresso machine but they only offered filter coffee. Coffee lovers will surly know what I mean.
The place is rather remote. You can eat at the restaurant which I assume is high quality but has its price or you have to take the car. Also, breakfast is only served from 8AM but the team was flexible so I got it bid earlier… but still missed it one day because I had to get to work at 7.30.

Classical cuisine, good quality. Excellent, spacious rooms. Nice location with view of river Maas. You need a car to come there. Parking (garage) available. There is a bus stop. We enjoyed a special offer of 90 eur pp for fixed meal and stay overnight, breakfast included. Good value for money. Normal prices rather higher. Nothing much to do in surroundings but just fine if you enjoy diner and sleep. Rooms on the riverside are much nicer and more quiet, so do not forget to ask for that (small extra charge is worth paying).

Luxury spacious room with beautiful view on the river Maas. We experienced some technical flaws however: the bubble-bath was unserviceable, the light in the mirror was not working, the beautiful radio-controlled clock was standing still and there was a bright red light blinking on the telephone (we were advised to put a book over it).
The presentation of the food in the restaurant was nice, but the taste mediocre. The wine-arrangement was to our opinion not a very good combination with the food.
The price for a package seemed reasonable, however we had to pay disproportional for extra's like table-water, taxes, coffee and the wine.
The breakfast, with a nice view on the river, was good.
If everything is working we could recommend the room, but not the restaurant.

Room Tip: Stay at the riverside. Excellent restaurant "Brienen aan de Maas" in Well, less than 10 m...

Small and luxury hotel in a beautiful setting: in forest at the Maas. Never had more space or greater comfort. Great bed, excellent bathroom with whirlpool bath and separate shower. First hotel with bathrobes in xxl! Mineralwater, coffee tea, fruit in the room. Restaurant is well known for asparagus menu in april, may and june. Breakfast is superb. Had a fine diner in full restaurant at saturday. Good location to have a short break. National Park nearby. Arcen has a lot to visit( brewery, liqueur distillery) Rose gardens in Lottum etc... Arcen Spa although outdated still worth visiting.

Room Tip: Ask for the Maaszijde. It is worth it! No elevator to first floor so ask for ground floor if your kn...

This hotel is located at the river Maas but also at a busy road and quite distant from everything.
If you cross the road, there is the national park Maasduinen. Great for walking and cycling.
The hotel and restaurant are looking a little dated, but the rooms and the restaurant are excellent.
Very spacious, balcony with view on the river Maas, bathrobes, slippers, a large whirlpool bath, separate shower, fresh fruit and tea/coffee. The beds and pillows are great.
In the restaurant we enjoyed a 4 course asparagus menu. Very tasty.
The breakfast is served at your table and is really good too.
The service is friendly.

The "Hamert" is a small luxury hotel set on the banks of the river Maas. All the large bedrooms are identical in size and decor wih half facing the river/countryside and half facing the forest/road.It is worth paying the supplement for the rooms on the riverside.
The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful.Bikes can be hired from the hotel from where there are many cycle/walking routes.
The food is top drawer and comes into the fine dining category. The slight disappointment was that there were no choices for dinner although they would provide something different if you didn't like what was on offer for that evening.
The hotel is not cheap at current exchange rates and probably indicates why it was less than half full during our four night stay.Nevertheless it is an excellent hotel particularly for a special occasion.
