We went away for a last minute break for May Day and this hotel had cut its prices to get their rooms filled. It's a bit odd to find because you have to go right through the railway station car park.
For our purposes it was ideal. Its quite a big hotel compared to where we usually stay and attracts buses full of retirees. Its décor is very dated (with a bit of imagination and not a lot of money it could be decorated a lot better and the soft furnishings could be a lot more modern looking). However the bed felt new and was firm and the pillows were just right. The room was huge and had a king and a single bed. We were next to the entertainment room and were a bit concerned that the bingo and entertainer would disturb us - we didn't hear a thing!!
It's about a 2 mile walk into St Ives which we did to eat out on the Sunday - just about OK.
We paid to have breakfast - there was a varied selection - you could have full English or just muesli if you wanted plus other things. Our room was above the kitchen so we got lovely smells of bacon and toast wafting up in the morning.
We really enjoyed our stay and would consider going back if we wanted to stay near St Ives.More
