“Excellent weekend”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

My daughter and I stayed at The Cross Keys in Rode the weekend of her 16th Birthday, as we had a family party booked nearby. From the moment we booked over a year ago Mike was exceptionally helpful I contacted him many times via e mail and his response was alwayts quick and friendly. When we arrived we were impressed by the friendliness of Jane and Mike and the cleanliness of the room and bar area. The breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, they made my daughter feel really special and even provided her with a bacon roll to eat in the car when we left. I would highly reccommemend it to anyone who needs a room in the area. Welcoming, helpful people, a great breakfast and lovely clean rooms, I am also assured by the other people who were staying there with us that they do an exceptional pint!

I stayed at the Cross Keys as I was going to a wedding and reception in the area. Good room - spacious and clean. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Very nice and substantial breakfast. Definately recommended.

We stayed for one night, ate dinner and breakfast.

This place is situated in a lovely little village, has free parking and is a short car ride away from Bath.

The room was lovely, nice and spacious, clean with an excellent shower and great value, The owners and staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful and really made you feel at home. The food was great and the selection of ales and cider went down very well with my husband!

The only thing that was a little disappointing was the sound (only a low hum) of the extractor fan from the kitchen which you could hear from the room, but that went off at 11 and did't come on again until morning.

I stayed at the Cross Keys as I was attending a school reunion in BoA. I was welcomed and showed to my room (a twin) only 1 of the 3 rooms they have. An excellent sized room with a great sized en suite, and a fab shower!

The thing about this place is the people who run it. So friendly, helpful, accomodating - just how it should be!

I met with friends to eat there too - and the food was excellent.

There are many b+b's in the area, but, to me, it is the people who make it. Good personable service, thank you!

Superb welcome - we were made to feel very much at home. Quaint surrondings only a short distance from Bath. Excellent breakfast and first class value for money overall. Cheaper than the Travelodge down the road! Parking a bit tight when we arrived but the car park cleared later in the evening so no problems. Highly recommended

Stayed here when visiting Bath for the day. Room was lovely with lots of space, the bathroom was great.
Clean bedding, towels, etc. Nice pub with good food. Owner was very friendly.
Room overlooked outside drinking area but this was not noisy.
Free parking in car park behind pub.
Highly recommended. Situated in a lovely part of the British countryside.
