Very peaceful long weekend at MoT

The on site bar/restaurant and store are excellent and fully compliment the high standards set by the accommodation .

This is definitely a place to wind down or for those who want to walk or explore the fantastic countryside .

Highly recommend a visit

This was our second trip to mains of taymouth. Last year we stayed in Bruadair and this we moved next door to Easter Bruadair from 9th to 12th Nov. We had a fabulous weekend. House was excellent very clean and well equipped. Couldn't work the television but man on a motorbike came to our rescue in jigtime! Surrounding area is beautiful especially Taymouth castle. All the people very friendly would 100% recommend and we will be back again,
thank you.

Stayed at the No 2 the Maxwells for a fantatsic 7 days over the half term holidays. Set on a stunning location next to Loch Tay and close to the atmospheric Kenmore Hotel the accomodation was of an excellent standard and finished in a contemporary style. All the rooms were massive and allowed for a party of parents and lively kids to all have their space. The kitchen had everything I needed with provisions 10 minutes away in Aberfeldy. Very warm and comfortable with great beds and bathrooms. The location allowed for tons of golf, outdoor pursuits, dog walking and nature spotting. We were able to use it as a base to head to Killin, Glencoe and Fort William one day, another to Perth and another to Queens View and Blair Atholl, Dewars Distillery and Pitlochry. Would recommend to famalies and large parties.

We have journeyed up to Scotland many times but this part of the country in autumn is simply stunning. Our base, 1 The Gallops at the Mains of Taymouth was a warm comfortable retreat after a day out adventuring, pony trekking, taking highland safaris, visiting the distilleries. Something for everyone up here and a very helpful, cheery bunch in reception at hand to advise and keep everyone happy. My husband, myself and 7 year old daughter had a wonderful time. The lodge, complete with oak flooring, underfloor heating and fabulous tartan curtains, lovely bathrooms, has everything a family needs. So relaxing and yet so much to do. A lot has been mentioned about the Golf facilities but if you're into arts and crafts and good food, (maybe the occasional homemade cake), you'll find it here. The Crannog centre was a big hit with our daughter and a felt making course with a leading craftsperson was a bonus. We cannot leave out seeing the wild deer. Fabulous place.

Room Tip: 1 the Gallops is a downstairs apartment so if the upstairs accommodation is occupied it is possible...

We are a group of 10 friends who get together every year in November for a long weekend. We've stayed in a number of self catering houses & Easter Bruadair has to be the one of the best. The house is well equipped & very comfortable. Large open plan kitchen / dining area & a hot tub to relax in after a day out on the hills.
The staff were very welcoming & attentive. We enjoyed it so much we hope to book the Farmhouse for next year.
if you play golf, the course is right on the doorstep. Kenmore is an excellent base for hill walking with the Ben Lawers range & Schiehallion within easy reach.

We've just returned from a long weekend at Mains of Taymouth and cannot speak highly enough of the accommodation, facilities, natural beauty...............

We were a large family party with a large lively dog and the dog was catered for in most places in the resort and in the neighbouring Kenmore Hotel. The freedom and fun enjoyed by our dog was a very important part of our holiday, and this resort did not let us down. The countryside, river and loch were wonderful for country walks where the dog had a ball, and the scenery with a backdrop of the wonderful colour of autumn leaves would equal that of New England in the fall.

The accommodation was what was expected, clean, good quality, well maintained, etc., and there was everything provided to take away the nuisance of an immediate shopping trip, like tea, coffee, milk, shortbread biscuits, dishwasher and washing machine tablets, washing up liquid, shower gell, shampoo, conditioner, logs with matches and firefighters for the log burner................and I'm sure there was more!

The resort is withing 50yds of the first tee of Kenmore golf course, and in the winter months it's free to residents, so we made good use of it. Although it's a nine hole course it's still 3000yds, with a par 5 of 560yds, so it's a good challenge. Also, we were there in early Nov. and the quality of the course is exceptional, particularly the greens which some clubs would struggle to achieve in mid summer.

This was our first visit to Mains of Taymouth, but we will be back, probably next spring - it is that good.

Room Tip: I believe all of the lodges / rooms are of the same high quality, it really just depends how many ar...
