We stayed over Easter in The Pines area of the park, this area was at the top of the hill and had amazing views of the Culver Down and Bembridge airport. We also stayed here last July and have seen a lot of changes in this time, it seems that some of the chalets are being replaced with new caravans! This is making a huge difference to the park, all the caravans are well kept and modern, ours was privately owned as is probably the best we have stayed in, we didn't use many facilities as we were out exploring the island, we did venture down to the beach which was lovely and not too busy. The little shop could do with a upgrade but stocked most essentials and was well priced. We had a good holiday and are hoping to come back sometime next year.

Room Tip: Book a caravan they are so much nicer, especially the ones on the hill as they have great views!

Thanks for your appraisal Louise and I'm pleased you noticed the improvements that have been made since last July. I would have to agree that some of the views from The Pines are truly breathtaking. The shop on park is not operated by Away Resorts but I will pass your comments on so that the operator is aware of your views.

Firstly, I decided to write this review to silence all the bad comments and scare mongering about the site. I have been taking my family in our touring caravan to the site for over 15 years, previously my wife had been holidaying here since the 70's! We absolutely love this place and would not spend our precious summer holidays anywhere else. If your kids are happy, then you are happy and that is exactly what Whitecliff Bay delivers. My children (now 14,15 and 19) still always want to come back. Everyone is friendly and helpful, there is always something to do, the facilities are great and as dog owners the site is fantastic for walks.
Yes, the chalets may be a little old but you get what you pay for! It is after all a holiday park and not the Ritz!
Keep up the good work Whitecliffe and we will see you in July for our 16th year!

Room Tip: Check out the site map online if your touring, the 80's are fantastic pitches!

What a brilliant review Harry & certainly one that does redress the balance with regards to some of the views of other guests on TripAdvisor though luckily for us they are in the minority. As you say, if the kids are happy then the rest of the family will be too & this is something that we constantly strive to achieve. Thanks also for your Room Tip which although it relates to our touring pitches, is still very helpful to others!

The staff were nice however although no one has bothered to call me back in relation to the bed bugs in the upgraded chalet... My kids and I were absolutly covered in bites really was sick....DO NOT STAY HERE the only good thing was the lovely bay .....

Just returned from a weeks stay at Whitecliff bay from 12th April. We stayed in a 8 berth canvas cottage. Stunning views and great facilities. Shower and toilet block kept clean although disabled toilet and shower needs a revamp. All entertainment was first class, with lots of activities for the kids to do in the day many where free and some £4 which was great value for money. The kids loved the outdoor cinema on the Sunday night. Evening entertainment was excellent in the club house, play live starts at 8 till 9 for the kids which is great, then a different act on after each night. Avoid taking the kids over before 7:45 as the bingo is on and they have to keep quiet, but most nights there wasn't the number of people needed to play so it was replaced with a quiz. Maybe bingo needs scraping!!
The indoor pool was ok could do with a revamp, but it was clean and the kids loved the slide.
Food in the on site pub was good and not over priced. Had a haircut in the on site hairdresser's lovely lady that works in there and dose a good job. On site shop overpriced, went to the co-op 5mins up the road in the village much cheaper.
All the staff are excellent nothing is to much trouble. Kerry on the campsite side was great, let us in our accommodation early and anything we asked her for was sorted straightaway!
We have booked to return next May as we really enjoyed it, keep up the good work!

Room Tip: Would recommend the canvas cottages and vintage caravans. Wouldn't want to stay in the chalets as they look really outdated.

And another great response from another satisfied customer! We believe the offer of glamping in our very own Canvas Village has added an extra dimension to the accommodation that we already offer and it seems to be very well received by the guests who've tried it. I will pass on your kind compliments to Kerry, as well as to the park's general Manager, & I'm sure she'll be thrilled to hear she's got a mention on TripAdvisor. I think yours is the first compliment we've had for the on site hairdresser so I will make sure that is also passed on

Last week we brought our two teenage granddaughters to this site for a week`s holiday during their Easter break from school. Since we have two grandsons whom we also take on holiday and are pensioners ourselves we were pleasantly surprised at the price of this holiday considering the way that other firms have hyped up their prices at the only time that parents/grandparents can give children a holiday without incurring a penalty fee for taking them out of school in term time.

When we arrived at the site we were even more impressed at the quality of our accommodation which was a chalet in Pelham Court. It had everything we could possibly need for our stay including a fridge freezer which meant that I only had to do one main shop at the beginning of our holiday to get enough food to last all week. After that it was just bread, milk and other perishables which I bought while we were out. We actually took a video of our accommodation to show the girls` parents when we got back and they too were favourably impressed. I am confident that they will be booking a holiday at this site at some point in the future.

The beds were comfortable and when we had a couple of problems ( a faulty hob and blocked drain ) these matters were immediately attended to as soon as we reported them.

The girls only booked for one activity on site - archery - as there is so much to see and do on the Island and they thoroughly enjoyed it. They also went in the indoor pool once but found it a bit small. Perhaps this is because of the proximity of a safe bathing beach ?

We elected to travel round by bus as we had our OAP passes which are valid on all service buses though not on the Coaster/ Breezer services. For the girls we bought a weekly ticket at £12 each which we felt was very good value since we went somewhere different everyday and this ticket also covered travel on the Island Coaster & Needles Breezer which would otherwise have cost £5 each ....... so you could say that the journeys for the rest of the week cost just £7 each child. The buses both to Ryde and Newport stop right outside the main gates of the camp and for those who like walking the coast path runs along the top of the cliff just before you go down onto the beach.

The site shop was a bit pricey but you expect that on a campsite - but there is a Tesco, Morrisons & Lidl all about six miles from the site for the bulk of shopping needed.

We did not use the evening entertainment facilities as we were too tired when we got back to camp but they seemed to be quite popular and plenty of the other holidaymakers seemed to be using them.

This is the best site we have ever stayed on both for accommodation and position for a beach and for getting to the rest of the Island. We would be more than happy to return here for another holiday !

Thanks for your fabulous review & also for all of the extra information that you have supplied which I think will be extremely helpful to other first time visitors to the park as well as to the Island. Whilst we do have a lot of positive reviews on this site, it would be good for other reviewers to follow your lead & share useful tips that they have discovered whilst holidaying with us. Loved your last sentence and look forward to seeing you here at the park again!
