Description: Lockslane is an intimate restaurant right in the heart of Bembridge. We source our ingredients from the shops right here in our village and across the Island: vegetables from The Farm Shop, and fresh fish from Captain Stan and Island Foods for meat from Isle of Wight farms. We are intentionally small, concentrating our efforts on providing attentive service and a dynamic menu.We are open from 6.30 In the evening and take last table reservations at 9pm, though you are welcome to stay as long as you want thereafter. Due to our size, we only allow children over the age of 12.

Decided to try this on a short visit to Island and pleased we did. A cold evening and we were ther only two diners, but the place is very small and the friendly staff and decent music made it not a problem. Food was really first class. Sea food risotto tasted like the contents were caught the same day. Not overpriced either.

We have eaten here twice now, the last time for our wedding anniversary this week. I really cannot fault either the food or service at all. A compact menu with something to suit every palate. The service is prompt and very friendly and all the meals- starter, main and dessert - were all beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. I thoroughly recommend this bistro for any occasion but recommend booking as it is not a large venue.

A very enjoyable meal for 2 with very fresh local ingredients. The lamb Wellington was perfectly cooked with crispy pastry and the lamb slightly pink inside. Deserts were excellent.

This was a very lucky find. Dropped a note into the letter-box during the day asking if there was availability that evening and a phone call not long after confirmed a place for two.

The restaurant is fairly small and quite simply furnished - brick walls and wooden tables. The food was first rate - potted crab for two and then a couple of fishy dishes for the main course - a meaty piece of hake sitting in a very tasty broth with butter beans, chorizo and spinach; my colleague enjoyed his hake wrapped in pancetta with dauphinoise potatoes. A nice touch here was the bread and oil brought to the table (free of charge) after we had ordered and more bread for me to mop up the broth. And a nice bottle of French white wine at a reasonable price.

Well done to the to the owners - one out back in the kitchen and one front-of-house - who have been open for just 8 months.
