“Good food, good value, family dinner”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

Tucked away in Bembridge village, but worth going, no sea view but never mind the food is far better than Baywatch, Crab and Lobster, Pilot Inn etc. I had a delicious sole, simply cooked but all the better for it with lots of vegetables.Others had tender lamb rump and child's burger all well executed and tasty. Rounded of with good house wine by the glass and fab puddings. Attentive friendly service and I judged good value for £60 for three of us. If you are staying in Bembridge for a few days you should give it a try.

“Always worth a visit”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

This is a very quaint restaurant with a lovely little garden during the day time. We had a family evening gathering the the food was absolutely delicious. There is a fair choice to cater for most requirements but the presentation and taste has to be experienced!
It is a family run business and nothing is too much trouble for your hosts, who are very attentive. We couldn't fault the service or waiting times, despite the restaurant being full. Definitely wora visit.

“Very cunning”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

Nice restaurant in a pretty village on the east coast of the Isle of Wight, but here's the clever bit; distinguish youself from all the other eateries in this small village by offering good, simple food, reasonable prices, friendly service and the kind of friendly welcome that families love. Ta da!

No, it's not rocket science, but how many places have we all been to that can't get the basics right. Fox's owners (husband nd wife team) have got it sorted. Don't go expecting haute cuisine or a gastronomic experience to nock off your socks; go for a great meal in a happy atmosphere. We did.

“Excellent”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

I did a review on Trip Advisor for restaurants in Bembridge and this scored very highly. Having now eaten there I can understand why. It looks like a shop front from the outside, almost cafe like, being informal and pleasant. The service was first class and the food was excellent. we both had the deepfried Brie wrapped in bacon to start, the best Brie that I have ever had and for the main course I had Plaice and my wife had the half lobster. My fish and the vegetables was perfectly cooked and my wife wishes she had had the whole lobster. The wine was very cheap but we did manage the whole bottle between us and the bill with two creme brulee and two coffees was £59! We shall go again, but make sure you book to ensure a table.

“Great Plaice”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

Three of us had lunch at Fox's today and WOW, two of us had local Plaice on the bone and the third had Chicken. All cooked to order by a Chef and the quality was excellent. We shall be back soon thats for sure.
