“Bembridge Coast - A haven”
Reviewed May 12, 2008

Just a brief review of the above, suprised to see it's not listed on TA .Warner's Bembridge Coast is a quiet adults only hotel out of the way on some of the best natural beaches on the island -granted there is not a lot of room at high tide but for walking & taking in the surroundings it is excellent. The hotel itself is a good standard -a bit 'holiday camp meets cruise ship', but a lot nicer than the former & more freedom than the second. We had the best available room, a "Royal" not knockout but as nice as is possible from this grade of hotel overall we were very pleased with the room .I doubt if the basic rooms are much cop but the upgraded ones are fine. Half board basis was good , the breakfast is as good as is possible and really could not be improved by much if anything, good choice at dinner with some a-la-carte options ,we settled for the carvery, a good English roast! with a choice of puddings & cheeses. The entertainment was very good indeed, this was a '70's' themed weekend with an ABBA/medley band one night & the "Rubettes"(sugar baby love) the second night & a staff show the third night .Very helpful & friendly staff everywhere, we only stayed for a long weekend but will return.Recommend this place for those wanting a quiet break in natural surroundings but with the option of evening entertainment.Only slight problem was we are late 50's & were the youngest there by quite a way in general.

Have just returned from midweek break at the Bembridge Coast Hotel. Location is first class as set on a lovely beach, but we would have appreciated more information as to the age group of the residents sharing our break, I agree with the previous review comparing this hotel to a retirement home, the entertainment is certainly geared towards the elderly. It was lovely to see so many people of certain age enjoyinh themselves but it was just not out cup of tea and wish we had been advised when making our booking.
Also we found the bed very uncomfortable, so much so we left the evening before we were due to leave in order to get a good nights sleep.

We love the Isle of Wight, especially Whitecliff Bay.Have visited since a child and still look forward to seeing those White cliffs.Stayed at Bembridge Coast Hotel as itis near Whitecliff Bay.Felt it was rather like a slightly up market holiday camp.Large groups of people spoilt it :talked through entertainment and totally dominated the hotel.Food was appalling;we have visited other Warners and food was slightly better at other hotels.English reception staff were totally uninterested,we were not treated with any consideration at all, just indifference. The Polish waiters were excellent showed the English staff up! Our room had excellent views of the Solent North facing.Tea and coffee in room is great. However mattresses very lumpy even husband who can sleep on a pin head thought they were bad. Room was rather dusty dont think its vacuumed enough at least not around the edges. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and grounds are lovely but our enjoyment was spoilt by the above mentioned problems.

Firstly may I apologise for the dissapointments you encountered but as you will see from the more recent reviews we have worked very hard on our restaurant food and the latest feedback is very positive.
