Sat back in Maryland, USA missing the Yorkshire Dales and the Devonshire Arms, after 3 wonderful nights in the Chatsworth Room. Excellent service is delivered by the staff of truly genuine and delightful disposition who really care about their work. Location is without doubt stunning with the close by access to Bolton Abbey and nearby villages.
The brasserie is excellent and the afternoon selection of food and coffee perfect for whiling away in the summer sun. The Chatsworth room was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable with a four poster bed. Will be back on the next trip home!

Room Tip: Go for the themed rooms, worth the extra expense.

I booked a conference there for my management team. The location is fantastic and the hotel and room style totally commensurate with the location and therefore the feel was as expected. Rooms good but not great. The welcome was very good with personal service. Indeed most staff are very good...especially the English ones. The foreign staff don't get our culture and diminish the experience of what should be an exceptional country hotel. The Austrian waiter...nice guy but no personality. What was disappointing was when I asked to have my breakfast outside, (something that the weather would not normally permit), as my colleagues had just arrived and were having a coffee out there, the waitress said that this was not possible as, "everyone would want this". What a load of tosh! This place is supposed to have top service but this kind of restrictive and non customer focussed attitude is bunkum and meant I had to leave my colleagues and eat alone. I then asked for eggs benedict and was told they didn't know how to make them. Great for a Michelin star establishment. If this place really wants to be the best it has to give customers what they want and not what the staff want to do...which also tallied with them getting us out of the dining room quickly so they could set up breakfast, even though we didn't want to retire to the lounge, and also putting us in the conservatory to eat because they either wanted us out of the way or it was easier than setting up a room. I will be back, but at least I know not to accept personal service. By the way, we did pay top rates for this and the fact that my Directors were on a small conference should not detract from how any of us should be treated.

Room Tip: Not needed as rooms are all well located

Have just returned having spent two nights in this beautiful location, helped by the stunning weather. Room very comfortable and the lounges relaxing and not pretentious. All staff we came into contact with were polite, helpful and friendly. We dined in the Burlington and ad the taster menu.If I am honest we were slightly disappointed. Two fish courses which were rather bland especially the mackerel dish and the chicken course which was really a cold terrine which lacked flavour.
The staff again were excellent and the Breakfasts outstanding. Get frustrated when charged for coffee at the end of the meal.
Overall we really enjoyed the stay, the location and the friendliness of the staff. We will return soon and recommend to friends.
Thanks

Room Tip: Rooms in the old part of the building were quiet and comfortable

We had a beautifully family and friends celebration dinner and were very well looked after to every inmaginable detail . Splendid place , the morning I had to Compromise for quick spa moment over breakfast. My party enjoyed theirs. Needed a bit more time to fully appreciate this beautiful surroundings and facilities.
The wifi connection was very swift which was great in most places you either get charged or hassled with complicated access.
Very friendly and professional staff.

Spent a night at this wonderful hotel for my Birthday. Fantastic friendly attentive service by all staff. Very dog friendly , there is even a lounge with great dog silhouette wallpaper! Very very clean and comfortable. The Burlington Restaurant is a must , we upgraded from the Brasserie (which was also stunning). Never mind London or Leeds for a stunning dining out experience if its the last thing you do you must try out this restaurant a hidden gem in the lovely rolling Yorkshire countryside.
Will definitely be coming back , would like try at Christmas Time.
Unique.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the grass courtyard are quiet , but views are better facing river

Spent last weekend at the Devonshire Arm for our anniversary. Impeccable service and very dog friendly. Could not fault this place from start to finish, will be back. We ate at the Burlington on the taster menu, great quality and very attentive. Worth every penny
