We enjoyed our burger n chips which came arranged on an attractive board. A half pound of excellent beef cooked to order. Home made chutney. Artfully stacked giant onion rings. And tasty hand cut chips presented in a miniature metal deep fry basket.
The food was lovely although the onion rings could have done with a dab with a paper towel as they were a touch greasy. Extra marks for buttering then grilling the cut sides of the roll although the roll was cold by the time it got to me.
The assortment of tiny puddings hit the spot. In each case (and we tried four) they were rich and tasty and just what they should be. Well done, Glenskirlie House!
Tea after was a delight. The light from the bookcase opposite illuminated the fronds of mint leaf in deep green liquid in my glass theiere. Drinking from the Rosenthal cups and saucers was a real pleasure.

The family had organised a special night for my wife who was celebrating her 65 birthday, we had been here before but many years ago as we have been staying abroad.
I have to say it was even better than I had remembered, as the introduction before the meal, the attention to detail, and the meal and service, were better than first class the food was excellent both my wife and I had the beef, medium rare and it was without a doupt the best beef I have ever had, an excellent night with no complaints whatsoever.

Enjoyed a fab meal on Saturday as part of a party of 10. Lovely atmosphere in their Conservatory as we had pre-dinner drinks then through to the very tastefully decorated Restaurant. We were seated in large alcove which more than accommodated our large group without feeling we disturbed other smaller tables. The food was excellent - I had the scallops followed by bream - others all made the same comment on their choices. Only difficulty with the sweets was choosing which one to have! Tea and coffees followed along with the delicious Tablet. The service was efficient and friendly and to a very high standard. Can't wait to return.

To be clear this review is for the main restaurant in the old house part of Glenskirlie - not the Castle or the bar grill.

We've eaten many times in Glenskirlie and have never had a bad or poor meal. They are always excellent nights out from start to finish. It's not a cheap night out but the quality and atmosphere we feel always come up to the mark.

This review is for a meal we had with a group of friends just before Christmas. This group go out for a meal one Saturday night a month throughout the year usually trying a new restaurant every time but we nearly always come back to Glenskirlie for our meal close to Christmas - so long as someone remembers to book it early enough, it's very popular, especially at the weekends.

The attraction is definitely the food - there's always something very different to tempt you and the presentation and quality is excellent. They have a great wine list with something for all tastes and pockets. Don't forget to leave room for a dessert at the end - you might find it hard to decide which one!

If you've a special occasion to celebrate I can't think of anywhere better to celebrate it in the area than the Glenskirlie House Hotel.
