“Welcoming, comfortable, Dog Friendly”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

I stayed here for one night this month, with my dog, en route to a caravan holiday. From the moment that I booked, I have nothing but praise for the friendliness of the owners. Upon arrival, I was greeted and advised where I could walk my dog (beside the lake in the grounds, or in the paddocks surrounding the property). My room was huge, with a beautiful view over the grounds and the lake, and my bathroom was next door to my room, and that also was huge. One word of warning would be to ask for a private bathroom, in case the room next door is also occupied. The breakfast was served at a time to suit me, not the owners, and was also huge. Cereals, toast, fruit juice and tea and coffee, then the biggest cooked breakfast I've ever seen, cooked to order. The local pub, 1 mile away, served lovely food, and had a great outdoor space, overlooking the village duck pond, complete with ducks and geese. Overall, very pleased.

Room Tip: If you like private bathroom facilities, ask for the family room at the rear, as that has it's o...

Stayed at Abbey Farm for 2 nights while visiting friends in Atherstone. Abbey Farm feels like a tucked away place in the heart of the countryside, but it is just 5 minutes by car from the centre of Atherstone, so very convenient.
We had the double room with bathroom right next door. Large, comfortable bedroom and I loved the window seat looking out into the garden. Wisteria blooming just outside the window was a bonus.
This is a very friendly family run B&B where you are made to feel very much at home. This isn't boutique luxury, but if you enjoy a bit of history and like to open your bedroom window to birdsong then you will appreciate a stay at Abbey Farm B&B.

Room Tip: Double room with adjacent bathroom also has a washbasin in the bedroom.

Husband and I stayed here for a friends wedding. Despite the snowy weather we made it to the B&B. Great service a lovely family happy to help felt very welcome, was offered vegetarian breakfast also great breakfast. Easy to venture in the local areas to see local history. It is in a beautiful quiet tranquil location amid wildlife and beautiful scenery.

Would recommend.

Excellent in all respects. Beautiful view over the lake and the countryside; large and comfortable room and a very good breakfast. The farmhouse is set amongst the ruins of Merevale Abbey, where Henry VII stayed before the Battle of Bosworth, and the experience for us was both peaceful and welcoming. Much recommended.

I loved Abbey Farm, and i was sad to only be there for one night. It is such a peaceful, relaxing place, and everyone who lives at Abbey farm treats you like one of the family, even the dog! My room was huge, spotlessly clean and with a lovely view. There was a great breakfast as well!
I highly recommend it, and hopefully you'll have more than one night to explore the beautiful surroundings too.

An excellent B and B, in a marvellous location. Very large bedroom, and a comfortable bed.
View over the lake to Merrivale Hall. Church to one side of the building, and ancient abbey
walls on the other. Henry V11 stayed in the Abbey, prior to being the victor at the Battle
of Bosworth the following day. If he was as refreshed as we were by the hospitality and surroundings, then it was no wonder he won.

As newlyweds we were made to feel welcome on our special night. When entering the room I was astounded at the quality. Jenny had set out our champagne and had scattered rose petals on the bed, provided lovely fluffy white towels, items to make hot drinks. I wanted to stay there and never leave! The bed was incredibly comfy and not to mention huge (the Superior room with en-suite). The two rooms were very spacious and I had to note that the bathroom was set out with a vanity table and the whole room was actually bigger than the last shared property we rented!
I would thoroughly recommend this B&B and I am hoping to make a return trip from merseyside to here for our 1st anniversary.
Oh definitely ask for a full english - it was a perfect end to a perfect stay!

Room Tip: The Superior room is definitely superior in every way. It is very spacious but another family member...
