A very warm welcome, massive bedroom and queen size bed and large en suite in the blythe room. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable, the veiws from the window were superb. A great nights sleep was followed by an excellent full english breakfast in a very relaxed atmosphere. The location is very quiet and peaceful, so good if you want to unwind and relax. Very easy to find, as it is just off the A5. If you are looking for a peaceful stay in a good priced B&B i would highly recommend this one.

Lovely friendly and homely. Stayed for 2 nights in a very large room with kingsize bed. Breakfast was lovely and well cooked. Grounds have some great views and would have liked to have explored the ruins in the garden but weather was bad, hopefully next time we stay weather will be better.

Stayed for two nights, two couples, over a weekend. Farmhouse easy to find from Atherstone, friendly greeting from Jen when we got there. We had the large room overlooking the lake which was beautiful, and our friends had the family room at the side of the hiuse, whic was large and clean but plainer. We were both happy with the rooms. Our bathroom wasn't ensuite but was right next door and we never bumped into anyone whilst going to and from it. Just remember to take pyjamas or a bathrobe! Friends room involved walking through the house lounge, as did getting to the breakfast room, and although this felt a little odd, the family made you feel at ease about it.

We spent Friday evening sat out next to the lake eating a picnic, and Bill and Jen and the cats and dog all came over to see us. Thoroughly nice down to earth people. Beautiful setting, almost ridiculous in the amount of wildlife popping up all over the place, like a Disney film!

Breakfast was a very tasty traditional English - egg bacon mushroom tomatoes and beans, and good toast and cereal selection.

This place is great value for money. There all small things they could change that would allow them to charge a lot more if they reslly wanted to - fridges in rooms, biscuits, digital radios, etc etc, but i think it was lovely as it was, and a bargain to boot.

Any faults? Wifi signal in room almost undetectable, and couldn't find the hairdrier, but wasn't bothered about either enough to mention it, and i'm sure if i had it would have been sorted.

If ever i needed to stay in the area again, i'd go back here without any hesitation.

What an absolutely fabulous place to stay. We only stayed one night but could happily have stayed longer. It was so comfortable. The welcome was warm and friendly, and the room excellent - large with a wonderful view. Definitely recommended if you like a quiet location, good views and want a good night's sleep!

Very relaxed, warm and welcoming, also in beautiful quiet grounds.
Large comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and white towels.
I see someone has said they thought it might be too posh...it's not posh, just friendly and comfortable with no pretensions - if it was 'posh' it would be twice the price.
We have finally found a B&B we can rebook and look forward to returning to.

Room Tip: Our room had beautiful views over the lake

We were only at Abbey Farm for one night unfortunately as we were breaking our journey on our way to Norfolk for a week's holiday. We had seen the one bad review before we stayed and have to wonder if they had stayed at the same B & B as us?

The building was lovely, inside and out and had lots of character and quirkiness - give us this any day rather than the sterile functionality of modern chain hotels. The room was large, comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed including fresh milk for our tea and views to die for. The bed was really comfortable with plenty of pillows and the long lined curtains ensured we slept as long as we wanted.

The family were so welcoming and it was a pleasure to find young people who were chatty, polite, helpful and a credit to the family. Our hosts were approachable, accomodating and very easy to relax with and we had a great breakfast to send us on our way.

We were only sorry our stay had only been for one night - we are now looking for an opportunity to return to the area as we would look forward to returning to Abbey Farm and would not hesiste in recommending it to our family and freinds.

With a large van (mixing business with pleasure) to accommodate we have to pick places where we are not made to feel a burden, inconvenient or take up all the parking. To this end we like to ring before booking, we were told 'not a problem' and made to feel welcome, this continued into our visit, welcoming and relaxing just perfect for a 'get away break'.
If you are looking for a modern sterile room look away now...
Our room was called Blythe, a huge room with lovely views, super large bed, TV, hot drink facilities and a massive bathroom. Everything needed for a lovely stay, nothing missing and everything clean and best of all it was in keeping with the house. I liked the cushions on the low window sill encouraging you to sit relax and take in the view.
Breakfast was superb, with lots to chose from and as much as you wanted, we were even asked if we would mind reviewing the sausages as they were trying a new local butcher, I hope they are still using them they were yummy!
My only 'warning' would be if you are following the hosts directions to the Rose Inn (a good recommendation for dinner) when they say a mile they mean a country mile! The walk was lovely and certainly built up our appetite but I think most people drive!
