Having stayed here twice now, I’m already looking forward to returning. The accommodation in a clean and comfortable 3 star, but the staff and food is much higher, whether it is in the bar area, at the restaurant or Breakfast in the morning. A great selection of alcoholic drinks with a large selection of Scotch Whiskeys.

The next time you are headed towards Brecon Beacons be sure to stop over the Abercrave for a night, or even for a meal if you've no time...
The food is locally sourced, the atmosphere is amazing and the locals more than welcoming.
The rooms are spacious and VERY clean.
My room had a magnificent view of the country side, complete with running brook and rolling hills.
The parking is ample and safe and everyone is willing to give you directions and tips on where to go and what to see.....
They also have an offer going with a full english breakfast included.....and when the welsh say 'full' boy do they mean it!!!

Room Tip: If you need wifi opt for a room in the inn.... If you like quiet and starry views go for the accommo...

I am a regular visitor to the Abercrave Inn and always look forward to my stay there. The rooms are cosy and comfortable and the staff are always very friendly and welcoming, while at the same time, most professional. I think we have sampled all of the bedrooms by now, and our preference lies with the rooms located across the road from the hotel itself, simply because they are quieter, since they are not above the bar and restaurant. There is a wide choice of good, wholesome food on the menu and the portions are more than adequate! The breakfasts are very good, but unfortunately the coffee does not always taste as fresh as it might. The current offer of £70 per couple per night for dinner, bed and breakfast is unbeatable and keeps us going back time and time again without feeling the need to look elsewhere in the area for accomodation. Thank you, Rhydian, and the rest of your staff for providing such a good service.

Over the years my wife and I have been staying at the Abercrave Inn and during that time we have used the bedroom accommodation above the main bar and also the rooms next to the car park on the opposite side of the road. They are always clean and tidy and with all services in good order. This time we were advised that being Christmas time and vacant rooms being in short supply we would be using the private residence of the owner in his home overlooking the main Inn as he would be away.It goes without saying the accommodation was exemplary
We took advantage of the promotional double room rate of £70 which included breakfast and 3 course evening meal.We did choose to pay a supplementary charge of £5 each for items from the Chefs special. The food was plentiful and good and the staff, waitresses and barmen were helpful and were obviously well trained to please.
There was a cabaret that night being Christmas and it added to making the night there in the restaurant something more special

just come back from the Abercrave Inn. We took an elderly uncle of mine for lunch, who had visited many years ago and wanted to go back. The decor was of old stone and dark wood and very cozy. I would have liked to have seen the fire going as it was quite a cold day. It is an expensive menu , i had checked on line before going. All three of us ordered gammon 9.95 each. The gammon was delicious not as good as the Tarfarn Y Deri but good. The only let down was the frozen chips. We do prefer hand cooked chips . The staff were very friendly , the service was excellent. The menu was quite extensive but expensive rack of lamb was £18.00 . Great if you wanted a special meal. We eat out most saturdays and usually look at paying £10 -£14 a head for lunch. We would definately return but not for the chips. We would like to go back and see the place decorated at Christmas as it has that olde worlde look about it. We did'nt stay overnight but they do have a good deal on £70 a night including breakfast and dinner.

We stayed overnight at the Abercrave Inn for £70 which included dinner, bed and breakfast. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous throughout our stay, and the only disappointment was that we were only there for 1 night. We were surprised to learn that there were virtually no restrictions to what we could order on the menu. How they can do this for such a good price is amazing! Highly recommended.
