Isis is a 12-room delightful resort located at the left side of Bohol Divers (if facing the beach), right on the beach. It's still quite new, having been rebuilt around 2005 after a fire that broke out on that area.

We got the standard room (Php 2,000 per night) which is airconditioned, w/ hot & cold shower, has a queen-size bed, and a spacious bathroom. Daily housekeeping made
sure that the room and bath are kept clean. Really good deal for the price if you ask me.

Isis has a really good Thai restaurant right in front of the beach - the best place to have breakfast while looking out to the sea. My favorite dishes were Pilipino breakfast (deep fried bangus fish with longganisa, rice, and soft-boiled egg), and the Pad Thai (which we had for dinner). Their green mango shake is also a must-try!

Since Isis is just right along Alona beach, you have a LOT of food options at night. Just stroll along the entire lenght of Alona beach and you'll find a lot of restaurants to your liking.

The transportation rates are a bit pricey if you ask me. A one-way ride (aircon Innova) from Isis to the airport cost us P500, with travel time of about 40 minutes. But the driver was really pleasant and chatty - shared a lot of facts on the way, making it like a mini tour while on the road :) If you're going to BBC or Bohol Bee Farm, I strongly recommend you take a tricycle and get the number of the tricycle driver - cut your costs by half. We requested to be picked up in BBC in late afternoon after spending the day there, with no extra transpo fees.

It's better to just book a room in any resort in Alona beach (I recommend Isis) - and just go on a day trip to Bohol Beach Club. BBC has the best beach to swim in - at par with Boracay's minus the crowd, hence you get more privacy! Alona beach is not "maintained" much by the government - the beach could have been A LOT more beautiful if someone regularly cleans up the seaweeds and debris that washed ashore. In Alona beach, it's every resort for itself - makes sense - but you don't get to experience a big area of seaweed-free to swim in if you just stay in Alona. However, Alona beach sand is very powdery and fine... very much like Boracay.

Note that swimming "hours" for Alona is best done during high-tide - which means early morning until noon. If low-tide hours hit, the shoreline recedes and you tend to see a lot of starfish, seaweeds, and coral stones - not ideal for swimming if you ask me.

Going back to Isys - the staff are very friendly and helpful. A big bonus is that they have Wi-fi!

A NEGATIVE feedback I would like to share: an electrical brownout occured during our stay there which lasted for more than 4-5 hours at midday. Very uncomfortable to take a nap in the room because of the hot tropical weather - but we fell asleep anyways since we woke up very early that morning for dolphin-watching and island hopping.

Overall, it is a good place to stay, good value for your money.

I flew to MetroManila and took a quick trip to Bohol because I heard about it from friends. The property is just like the picture on the website. It is not a resort with pools, etc but a quaint place to stay right on the beach. I stayed here for a ngiht, originally in one of the small rooms but it was a little too small and bare so I upgraded to Bunglaow 8. Bunglow 8 is wonderful, and probably any of the beachfront bunglows are. The bedroom and bathroom are spacious, pretty and very clean. The person who drove me from the airport also took me on an island tour later - he is 5-star. He is intelligent, seems educated, very courteous and very accomodating. The service is very good at the front desk and restaurant. Delicious Thai food. The beach is narrow, but other than that it is a perfect little stretch of white blue-water beach.. It's hard to comment on the price. I would say that the restaurant, tour, room published prices are expensive relative to say Makati, Manila Ocean Park or Quezon City's Eastwood, but maybe all of Panglao is that way. I think Panglao pricing can take it down a notch. Also note that th front desk closes during the night. So make sure you have everything you need before you turn in.

Isis was the second resort we stayed at on our Holiday. We booked a deluxe bungalow, Room 1, and it was outstanding. The view of the beach could not have been better. The restaurant on site was good and the staff was excellent. The room was big with a nice bed and an adjourning bathroom that nice and clean.
If I had to pick a negative it would be the television. We did not watch to much of it just the morning news before breakfast but the location and the size could have been better.
Overall we enjoyed this place and hope to come back in the future.

we'd just like to commend the superb service we received from the very hospitable and friendly staff members of Isis Bungalows who attended to all our requests and needs efficiently. The rooms were spacious, clean and really comfortable. The thai food was excellent and yummy! It was the best thai food we have tried so far and it definitely exceeded all our expectations. Everything we reserved online (tour and transfer) were properly coordinated which made our trip very hassle-free.

We will definitely share this great experience to all our friends and recommend Isis as their hotel choice when they visit Bohol. We are looking forward to the next time we can visit Bohol again because of the fun experience we had..
