“Home Away from Home”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

Stayed with my wife and daughter from May 24 - 26, 2013.

Got Room No 8, Family room good for 4, 2 queen size bed but room can accommodate as much as 10. You can request for additional beddings for a minimal fee. Window view(see attached photo) of Alona beach in Panglao. Resort can arrange airport pick up, countryside tours and even the island hopping tours. Staff very attentive. They also got a Thai restaurant in the resort fronting the beach.

Comfort room large enough as in huge comfort room (for room no. 8). Recommended resort in Panglao!!!

Room Tip: Take rm no. 8, its a family room fronting the beach, nice window view!

Stayed there for 4D/3N with my husband and 2 kids. First, they were late picking us up at the airport. We made sure to make the proper arrangements because we had kids with us and our arrival would be lunch time. I wanted to avoid dealing with 2 cranky, hungry kids. Unfortunately, it was also raining when we got there so it was doubly upsetting for us.... Upon check out, the hotel was also slow to process our leave. Ended wasting 20 mins waiting for ppl to help us with our luggages. The hotel does not have access to the road so you'll have to walk thru sand to get to your vehicle.

The other reviews were right, it is a basic accommodation. Really B-A-S-I-C. While the faucets were working during the day, it has slow trickles at times. And the heater almost does not heat up the water. On one night, there was no water in the faucet at all. There is a sign by the flush tank to conserve water as portable water was being delivered on a daily basis. However their flush switch was defective. The overhead light was not working in our room. Was already too disappointed we didn't bother reporting anymore.

Room 1 has the best location of all the rooms. It was very near the beach that we didn't have to bring our stuff to the shore anymore.

They cleaned the room when we requested it. That's a plus.

The restaurant served good food. It was reasonably priced too. Actually cheaper than the others we tried (like the resto of Lost Horizon).

Too many boats parked at the beach front from dawn to 7AM.

Room Tip: Choose Room 1 for best access to the beach

This place is right on the beach but no free breakfast. The beach itself is descent but they need to clean it up more often. We stayed for 2 nights in bungalows 1, 7, 6 and room 10. #6 had a leak in the shower area, they did clean up the water but didn't make any attempt to fix the problem. #7's AC didn't work the first night but they were able to fix it right away. #1's location is great it's just a few meters from the beach.

We stayed in one of the bungalows for 4 days. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large enough, but the fixtures were all plastic (but they worked fine so that didn't bother me). Our room was a few steps from the beach, and we had a small patio were we could sit and enjoy the ocean air. We had a problem while we were at the resort, the A/C in our room stopped working one morning. I went to the desk and reported it and 2 men came to fix it within 5 minutes. After trying for a few minutes to get it to work they quickly removed the unit and replaced it with a new one. We had A/C again about 10 min after I reported the problem.

i am a walk-in guest looking for available rooms. i reached at the bar where i thought it was the reception. the non-uniform guy pointed the reception for me. i was glad that he welcomed me with a smile. after i reached the reception, 2 lady receptionists are chit-chatting and see me as a stranger in the woods. what was that? they CAN'T even show some smiles for me. ohhh darling, if you are the receptionist, can you have... at least...FAKE SMILES for every guest? we are inquiring for rooms and we will pay. aren't you glad for a wonderful day you had? i better eat at your restaurant where i feel special treatment there. very hospitable and never failed to smile, even if i see them that they are busy with other customers. but i wonder why these 2 teens serve us nwithout their uniforms? almost staff i see are wearing i ♥ isis but i see some who arent wearing, but that does'nt matter. they are VERY opposite to the receptionists you have.

Room Tip: the restaurant is good. i wonder who their chef was.

Sitting here having breakfast at isis with nice view of 100 boats gently bobbing in the water. So get your brain spam filter set to ignore the following words as you will hear them during every quiet moment like this. Literally every few steps along the beach. Now while at breakfast people wandering through restaraunt. Talking to you're gf or family prepare to be constantly hearing "island hopping. Chocolate hills?" Quaint first day and realise they have a job to do but by second it drives one mad like the repitition of Chinese water torture. It's non stop from the moment you step out of your room. Same phrase repeated hundreds of find a day and they don't go until you answer. So expect hundreds of no thanks to say.
Isis average. Only room left was a budget room 2000 pesos. Just a box with aircon and bathroom. No towels. Sheets but no blanket or cover. Order coffee at restaraunt? Get a cup of Luke warm water with a Nescafé satchel and a satchet of artificial creamer. Ok so too cheap to buy a coffee brewer but couldn't they heat the water and maybe open the satchet and pour it in? Too much effort. Order toast. Get just that. A slice of cooked bread. No butter nothing. Just a total lack of effort is frustrating.
Overall best suggestion is to use Panglao is as a diving base only. It's overpriced, tourist trap with constant hawkers. Lots better places in the phils for a holiday.
