visited their for an overnight stay with my family. we stayed in a beachfront room. it was so relaxing... the amenities are new and we feel like we are home... it was actually our first family vacation out of town... definitely we will come back their and will refer this resort to my friends and colleagues...
you must also try to stay here and experience the best that we could imagine... opps during breakfast, all guest are VIP. when guest arrives in the restaurant, you of course will feel you are important to them because your table has been reserved with your name on it...
very accommodating... although the resort is fully booked, it is not crowded. because of a wide beach and the distance of the room from each other is designed to relax and keep you away from other guests noise... lovely... very nice...

Room Tip: beach front room..

A stay at this hotel guarantees relaxation as it is situated on a peaceful, beautiful, white sandy beach on Panglao Island. The staff are extremely friendly and the rooms are very comfortable and clean with an abundance of complimentary water, tea and coffee. I also loved the little touches such as complimentary biscuits dropped off at your room in the evening. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and excellent value for money, whilst the beach bar was also very reasonably priced.

It's only a short taxi ride from Alona Beach which I would definitely recommend venturing out to for a wider variety of evening meals (especially the beach BBQs) and only a 30 min taxi from the airport. Avoid the hotel transportation as you can definitely find cheaper, but the Reception staff are happy to help with this.

On the whole WiFi access was fast and wide reaching although when the hotel was full became frustratingly slow.

I would definitely recommend this hotel!

South Palms made our vacation the happy memory it has become. We usually keep our expectations low, as we did not want to risk disappointing ourselves. Plus, in this case, we knew that the resort was just into its newly-opened phase, so we considered that. The moment we set foot there, we were surprised at the warmth that greeted us. Little did we realize that this warmth would be consistent throughout our stay: the staff would address us by our names, and would go out of their way to assist us, to the point where we would feel spoiled by their hospitality. We love that the staff, from the front office to the driver, are knowledgeable of tourist spots, prices, etc. Our room was excellent-- large, well-maintained, clean, well-stocked. Every nook and cranny was spotless, and our companion, who remains known for being, well, too critical about cleanliness, had to agree that this is among the cleanest and most satisfying rooms we have ever stayed in. The fixtures and decors all spoke of beach life, and since our room was beachfront, just hearing the waves was enough to induce us into a state of relaxation. The beds and sheets were wonderful, soft and comfortable. In fact too comfortable that we would find ourselves lapsing back to sleep too often! But that’s a good thing. The bathroom is spacious and tidy, so well put-together with toiletries and amenities. And we are happy that it has a bidet. Hotels should switch to bidets, just because they’re so handy. High five then to the housekeeping staff for ensuring that our room away from home is in tip-top shape. Of course, there’s also Wi-Fi in the room, so that’s a huge plus. We appreciate the fact that from our room we could go directly to the waters. We only had to step out of our room and jump into the water. Easy. We also had a choice: the sea or the indoor pools. Now that’s a good problem to think about. The beach is a pretty large stretch, we heard it’s the longest strip there. The beach is always clean, no spiky rocks or corals or dry wood to step on. We think that worked to our advantage since we much preferred to spend this vacation a bit more privately. That is why we had no problems at all with its location. It’s quite a distance from the main road, but that’s alright since that meant few outsiders could see us. Security they take seriously over there, so we didn’t have to worry about anything. The food there at the Oceanica restaurant is wonderful. Sometimes food in other places is presented well, but suffers from lack of taste. Here it had both taste and presentation. Food was fresh, so no complaints from us. We highly recommend going for the seafood, any, since one is guaranteed utmost freshness at the resort. We had a really enjoyable massage in our room. The therapists showed up promptly and gave us a massage that sent us to dreamland. Well, all in all, this was the kind of beach vacation we had always wanted. Good value for our hard-earned bucks. No noise, no hassle, no problem. We will definitely be back soon.

Room Tip: If you can, choose the beachfront room.

This new South Palms Resort claimed to be 4-5 star in Panglao but totally makes no difference in checking in the resort right next to SPR. They share the same beach and shoreline but SPR charges 75% more compared to the resort right next to it. Arrived in Bohol January 16 2014. Checked in Dumaluan Resort (which is beside South Palms Resort). The long shoreline is really inviting you to walk so we did had this long walk. We came across a divider seems to me in the beach. We met a security guard and we were told to just walk in the shoreline because we did not checked in their resort. I had a little conversation and said, I want to look at your resort and see if I can spend my money and if it is worth my money. The security guard offered his manager instead because really, no one is allowed to walk in their resort. I was like really??? Well then this sounds interesting to me so we decided to walk in and speak to their manager. What kind of management is this who doesn't allow you to view their resort? How would I know if this resort is worth my money? When we arrived in the reception, it was quiet and this front desk asked as to how can they help? Informed her, that their security guards need to have orientation on NOT throwing away guest prospects. There were many before us who were pushed back by these security guards, no walking allowed for the reason that they did not check in. This resort will need more studies on how to invite their guests and not just corner them and tell good things about the resort while guests are in Tagbilaran port.
1. Compare SPR to 5 star resorts in Dumaguete where people can walk in and see if the resort is worth staying.
2. Offer walk in dining. How can non guest try your food if your security guards are blocking the way?
3. Compare walking in Amorela Resort and their security guards are well trained and very nice in letting us see their resort. Hello? We are here for vacation, beach and sun and a bed to sleep at night. Any traveler on a holiday knows that they don't have to spend 10000 a night in this resort and spend the day out on Countryside Bohol Tour. Hello? Wake up? The next resort charges 2600 a night and it has all that a traveler needed.
To those who just want to waste money then checked in here. To those who want VALUE for their money, then please make a wise decision.
To my countrymen, don't be deceived on the information that because these are resorts privately owned, it stops you from swimming on the sea where the resort is located. No one owns the sea. Not them not me. It's for all of us to enjoy.
