My wife and I made this trip for some rest and to do some scuba diving, a passion of mine. We took advantage of the soft opening promo and was not disappointed. The resort is brand spanking new. The resort design, facilities and staff are obviously deluxe. Large rooms, well appointed, luxurious linen, goose down pillows, large Samsung LED TV complete line up of cable stations. Fast, free Wifi is available everywhere. Oversized central A/C which you can set to freezing, which we found unnecessary as the climate here so much like Hawaii, a constant gentle cool breeze and the ceiling fan is quite adequate.
what really stands out for me is the hospitality of the staff. I feel like a star walking around as everyone is greeting me. I have noticed from an earlier visit to Bohol, the the people here are naturally hospitable, honest, good-natured and there is a certain tenderness in the way they talk. The hotel fails to mention that this province has one of the lowest crime rates in the country.
But my purpose is diving Balicasag. A premier dive destination. I have been here several years ago and found the dives boring with not much to see.
For a little over a hundred dollars, you are completely outfitted with brand new Aqualung gear, a local dive master will be your guide, a boat to bring you to the island of Balicasag which is about 30 minutes away. I saw 8 turtles on my first dive, a giant school of jacks, lots of healthy corals, in very clear 84 degree water. Saw 2 more turtles on the second dive, octopus, and another massive school of jacks. On the way back to tthe resort, our little boat was escorted by what seems to be hundreds of dolphins. I love taking pictures. you must see to appreciate. this trip was truly unforgettable.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms faces the beach. If not, make sure it does.

Don't give this hotel a miss when you are planning to go to Bohol. Stay at Panglao island which is just a short ride across the bridge from Tagbilaran City. Beautiful blue waters and sugar fine white sand. Water with hardly any debris. Within 30 mins you're at the hotel's driveway. The hotel will officially open this week (mid Nov 2012). Our 3-day experience was flawless inspite of the fact that the General Manager was on a long leave of absence due to an accident. Rooms have 5-star amenities. Well appointed. Comfortable pillows. Thick fluffy duvet. Good lighting and switches all next to the bed. In-room safe that is lighted when you open it.
Something unique in this resort ....a towel rack by the balcony to hand your wet bathing suits and swimming trunks. Good thinking from the management.
Night entertainment provided by a local band that makes good music - a little bit too loud as their music filters all the way up to the bedrooms.
The buffet had a good mix of Filipino, Chinese, Japanese and Italian (western) choices. The grilled items were the best ! Filipino sausages (langoniza) were delicious. Waiters were attentive, polite and friendly. Always ready to help.
My first time in Bohol, one is able to see and experience all the important tourist sights within 2 days.
1) Chocolate Hills - the 260 steps were not as tough as I thought it would be. Visitors have a choice of walking up the steps or climbing an alternative path which is a paved ramp uphill.
Bring along water to cool yourself as you make it up to the top.
2) Tarsier monkeys - the smaller primates in the Guiness book of records. Only in the Philippines and Indonesia can you find these rare species of monkies. They look more like a cross between a bat and a mouse.
3) Churches - lots of churches built as early as when the Philippines was discovered in the 1500's. If enough tourists visit these churches and make enough contributions...they should be renovated and preserved. They should be classified as national treasures ! The most impressive is the Baclayon Church built in 1571. Dauis Church built in 1771 and Loboc Church.
4) Rivercruise along Loboc river - enjoy lunch while you cruise up and down the Loboc river.
5) Panglao Island pristine beach - a "MUST DO." within 100 steps from the hotel pool.
Best time to enjoy the beach is early morning when the tide is low and one can experience wading knee deep as far as 100 meters from the shoreline. Catch live sea cucumbers, find rare shells. I caught a star fish ! Enjoyed it for a few minutes and threw it back into the open
sea. A rare experience for all of us is to have the fishermen catch a few sea urchins, crack it open in front of your eyes and enjoy fresh "oni." with a glass of wine by the beach.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the sea.

I love staying here. The staff are so accommodating. The resort maintain the cleanliness of the place especially the rooms. They served best breakfast and delicious selections in their lunch and dinner menu. All of the staff are so kind even the Chef's. They always put sweets and biscuits in my room and fix my bed before I go to sleep which I didn't know cause I'm having dinner. The pool is amazing..the pool architecture so unique and very inviting. The pool depth is not dangerous for people who can't swim like me, they have diving area which is 12 feet but safe cause there's a lot of watcher in the pool, as in a lot of them. There is a band who performs during dinner time which starts at 8pm and onwards. There restaurant and bar ends till 10 pm but the front office and room service is 24 hours. The beach area is clean. I think they clean it before 6 in the morning and it so fresh!! The area of the resort is so spacious. The rooms are so relaxing, it is inspired condominium resort. The value for Money is good. You will experience a best 5 star service in Bellevue. If you want a great holiday, you should stay here cause they will arranged anything for you.

Room Tip: Choose the ocean view room!!! I'm in room 314 and it so nice staying here!!!

It was such a traumatic experience for us, we were a group of 38 or 8 families. The resort is very new, so some parts of the amenities were not open yet so that's understandable but when we entered the lobby, we could smell something strange and didn't mind it. Went up to our rooms and noticed as we walked through the corridors.. the strange smell started to give us head aches.
To our surprise, even the rooms had really strange smell. It smelled like the SEWER!!! Yuck Terribly gross!!! We thought just some of the rooms but we had a lot of rooms spread all over the resort and discovered that the whole resort/ hotel smelled like the SEWER!! We all wanted to transfer hotels but since it was a long weekend all other resorts were booked, our flights couldnt get changed.
We were trapped for 3 days and 2 nights, 2 sleepless nights! Imagine our faces covered with towels at night cause we coudnt breath.. from the bathroom to the rooms, everywhere! The housekeeping gave us oil burners with euchalyptus for temporary relief.
The smell didnt just did the highlight but most of the toilet bowls were clogged. One family from our group was sleeping in the middle of the night when the smell started becoming worse and could hear water leaks from the bathroom..lo and behold, a flooded bathroom because of the toilet bowl overflowing-how gross can this be? The Parents had to carry their children out of the rooms hurriedly. 3 from our group got sick, 2 adults and 1 child..
Aside form the smell, food was horrible except for the grilled, service in their restaurant was a disaster! It would take them an hour to give you a cup of coffee, syrup for pancakes, or your main order. So many times we complained and yet service never improved. There was no system at all.
We complained and gave us a 20% discount, not enough for me.. for ruining our most awaited vacation for a group of 38, our sleepless nights, kids were all upset, some got sick.. our health were put at risk!
How can this hotel accept guests risking their health. It is very unsanitary sleeping and breathing strong SEWER smell all over especially when you sleep at night. How horrible can these people be? They should be inspected by the health department!
Bellevue Bohol....BIG MISTAKE EVER!!!

Room Tip: All rooms smell like the sewer, bring your own tents if possible!

This is the best hotel I ever stayed in Bohol. Upon arrival at the airport, we were welcomed by the Bellevue staff with cold water and cold towel to freshen us. We were privately transferred to the resort via van in about 40 minutes. While inside the van we were welcomed and briefed by the staff about our rooms and handover to us our room keys. Upon arrival the resort staff eagerly welcomed us, and a welcome drink was served. We booked a 2 bedroom suite room. Our rooms are very spacious and clean. The bathroom is great especially the rain shower with good water pressure. Kudos Spa from Australia is the brand of the shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hand soap & shower gel they have in the bathroom. The beds and pillows are very comfy, I think the pillows are goosedown. The room has iron & ironboard, sleepers, LCD TV, kettle, safety box and minibar. The infinity pool is awesome! Breakfast is great too with wide variety of selection. Local tours can be arranged at the tour desk, they have package tours and van rentals. We booked our Balicasag & Virgin Island tour through their tour desk, its good that they allowed us to bring their beach towel outside the resort plus free bottled water. We only paid the boat rental at the hotel as they have no package tour for this tour, we paid directly to the operators in the island for our snorkeling tour and other fees. Oh by the way free WIFI is available even in our rooms... yey! Beach has white sand, when its low tide the water from the shore is very shallow, you will have to walk a long way to be able to swim, but its alright cause they have an excellent pool. Live band is played every night near the restaurant. I hope that jet ski, banana boat and other water sports will be available the next time we visit this resort.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and guarantee you that you will enjoy your vacation.

Room Tip: Book the seaview rooms

My family and i stayed here in August while it was in its soft opening phase. Since we booked directly with the resort, we were met by their friendly staff as soon as we stepped out of the arrival area. We were each offered a cold bottle of water and face towel. Then we rode in one of their brand-new vans for the 30 minute trip to the resort on cemented roads. I suggest making land arrangements prior to going to Bohol because it can be unpleasant finding decent transportation on your own. The resort is located along Doljo beach in the northwest and quieter part of Panglao Island. It is a very impressive v-shaped, 5-storey building with high quality furnitures and fixtures. The pool area is composed of a kids section and an infinity pool which is only around 4 feet deep. Beside the pool is a 2-storey, gazebo-liked structure that will have a restaurant and spa. Do not expect any privacy in the pool area when this is fully operational. This is a breachfront property with white sand (not as fine as Boracay though) and is also ideal snorkeling. The room we got had two double beds and is as spacious as the bathroom with the usual amenities like miniref, flat screen TV, safe, free Wifi, etc. Security on the grounds is very tight so you feel safe even when walking along the beach at night although there is no nightlife. The breakfast buffet was good and can be eaten al fresco style. There are other small resorts in the area to eat during the day but did not try them out.

Be sure to get a Bohol island tour because you will see the natural beauty of this part of the Philippines and will show what the local government is doing to protect and preserve its environment, culture, and history. You can hire a van with driver for about 2,500.00 philippine pesos. Then tell the driver where you want to go and pay separately for all the entrance fees, lunch, etc. You may also opt for a package tour that will take you to all the essential tourist spots. Price per head depends on the number of your party. My estimate for a party of four is about 800 pesos per head. Expect to pay a little more if you book from the hotel but the tour itself is worth it.

Although this place is not cheap, my family and I will definitely come back when all the facilities are available. I am sure that this resort will be among the top choices to stay in Panglao Island in Tripadvisor.

Room Tip: Get a room with a pool view.

We stayed at the Bellevue Resort for 3 days and 2 nights. We were so happy that my husband wanted to extend our stay. The hotel is beautiful, the pool is gorgeous and the service is excellent. They just opened and still have to work on minor details but they are on the right track. The staff were very gracious and welcoming, made you feel special.

Minor details that need to be fixed - lock to the door leading to the balcony was difficult to operate - had to call for help everytime. Need to be able to open it with your key from the outside too. Waiters in the Lamian restaurant need a liitle more training in anticipating diners' needs especailly if they are seated outside.

Otherwise, we were really happy. The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of Alona Beach and you will feel you have your own private resort.

Room Tip: Deluxe room on the first floor - easy to get to the pool and beach from your room through the door t...
