Alona Beach is not really a beach. It's not possible to go in the water because of the many many boats which are stranded on the shore or beacuse of the seagrass OR because of the trash that is EVERYWHERE...sad! I was in many places in south east asia but that place is ridiculous. People who say that this is a 'paradies' have no idea.. but maybe they haven't been somewhere else in the world. If you wanna have a nice holiday and a nice beach don't go there. There are definitely some other good places in the philippines.

White sands, cool waters. Perfect for frolicking and bathings. I forgot to bring my snorkle and goggles but the views were just fantastic. Try taking pictures at dusk when the sky turns colorful. And try spending more time... so relaxing!

I and hubby visited the beach for the first time last October 2011. It was still low-season then so i find it quite relaxing than the uber noisy and crowded Boracay. Food was ok ( the ones we tried), we had a beachfront accommodation and it is a good place to stay for those who want to do the island day tour. One can snorkle a few meters from the beach and they had some shows and bands at night too. We tried the massage offered by the trained, uniformed locals and I ended up having body pains on the next day. Over-all, I find the place ok but I have been to far nicer beaches in the Philippines that I might no longer come back in here.

Whether you want to relax, have great cheap massages, do some great diving, island hop or eat some excellent quality food Alona Beach is for you. There is a range of accommodation to suit all budgets and plenty of good people to meet.

The beach itself is very nice, but there are too many people and the restaurants are nothing to write home about.
