This was a very nice spot to stay on my first night in the Philippines. Bilbo was a good host and has an amazing property in Alona Beach. The garden is lush complete with a ping pong table and the bar/lounge area is all decked out in Bob Marley memorabilia. The bungalows themselves are clean and charming to stay in. No A/C, but the fan cools off the room well and for the price, it's a good value for what you get. It's easy to meet people in the bar/lounge area so this is a perfect place for solo travelers looking to meet fellow travelers. Just a short stroll down the main road to the beach.

Very much agree with the last review. This is a great place to stay if you're on a budget. The location is good except for the neighbouring clubs and crowing cockrels 24/7. I'm a heavy sleeper so it didn't bother me too much. Rooms are stuffy, but again this didn't bother me too much.

The couple that own the place are very friendly and very helpful.

If you're on a budget and enjoy reggae music this is your place. Otherwise there are plenty of cheap places nearby to stay at.

Make sure you try Guiseppe's. V authentic and run by a Sicilian!

We stayed here for 6 nights and think there are some positives and negatives to this place but overall it is a fantastic place to stay if you are on a budget or if you just want to stay somewhere with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Pros:

The couple who run the resort are very welcoming and friendly. The staff are also very sweet and friendly.

The rooms are clean!

The gardens are beautiful and it's great just chilling out on the porch of the hut, especially if you are getting sick of the beach.

The breakfasts are good.

The bar area is a very relaxing place to hang out in the evening.

It is excellent value for money.

It is close to the beach.

The fan works quite well and kept us cool at night!

Cons:

No aircon and the room can get quite stifling during the day.

The mattresses are quite thin - this did not bother us so much but some may not find this comfortable.

It can be a bit noisy at night, not because of the staff or guests but because there are two clubs near the vicinity that play music throughout the night. There were also quite a few cockerels behind our hut which liked crow all night long!

A great place to stay run by a lovely French couple. The atmosphere here is brilliant; laid back in a genuine sense, not a contrived 'Woo! You're travelling and this is a cool laid back hostel!' way. You are left to relax, there is always someone around if you need anything, and there is nice easy music going all day which doesn't encroach itself at all. The theme is reggae and you can see that the owners are truly dedicated, there is a green/yellow/red colour theme throughout, right down to the toilet waste bin, but it's tasteful. We stayed in a three bedroom room and it was good, clean and a nice bathroom. It's near everything you need and it's a real friendly place to hang out in the evening. The breakfasts are fantastic too, and keep you full for most of the day! Plus they serve REAL COFFEE! We really enjoyed being guests here, thanks!

Don't care about the value for money, this hotel is more like a second home far away from your own. It's not expensive at all, the service is really good, the breakfest excellent, the owners, a mix between friends and parents, they are really concerned about you and are really interesting ( also interested by everything).

This guesthouse is the main reason for me to return to Bohol, i would recommend it to my friends and people i don't like, they could need the " good vibe bombarding"

This is one of the friendliest places we have stayed at. It is owned and run by a French couple, who really go out of their way to help you out.
The hostel itself is around a 10 minute walk from the seafront. This is actually pretty useful, as it's nice and peaceful during the night.
Each cottage has its own bathroom, a double bed and a comfortable sofa. They are all really nicely decorated with reggae gear, but it's not too over the top. There is a small terrace outside each room, which is quite nice for an evening drink.
There is a common area by reception with a couple of sofas. There is also a garden area, with a table tennis table.
Beer and soft drinks are sold in reception at very reasonable prices.
Wifi is available free in reception, but not in the rooms.
