I have always liked this old and traditional hotel. I have been there many times but never had lunch in their restaurant.
We came to the hotel around 12noon and was told they don't open for lunch before 13:00 but they would open for us at 12:30. We spent the wait sitting in the garden taking in the sublime view.
The restaurant served a set 2 course lunch consisting of salmon with new potatoes and panna cotta for desert served with coffee. The food was really good even tho I had expected more traditional Norwegian fare on the menu.
The service was very charming. The 2 waitresses was very professional and efficient.
We had our coffee in one of the lounges.
I would love to come back and stay for a weekend.
This place is magical and I hope they manage to maintain the feeling of the place even tho they have done some refurbishments to the hotel.
