I've stayed here on a number of occasions in the last two years. It's situated in a quiet corner of Pierrefonds (about 2.5 hours away from the Euro Tunnel and 15 minutes away from Compiègne). The rooms are a little on the small side but perfectly suitable for most needs. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's a good base for exploring this beautiful part of France.

This is a great little hotel in a good location for castle and lake.
We stayed in a large family room with an extra bed to accommodate 3 children. The staff were friendly and courteous at all times and it is a shame there are not more hotels like this remaining in France. The room, beds and bathroom were all spotless.
We ate in the restaurant on Saturday evening and the food was good and reasonably priced. The restaurant was busy on a cold February evening so be sure to book. It was pleasing to note that it was a good family tolerant atmosphere for children which allows the adults to relax a little and enjoy their food.
The breakfast is buffet style but with plenty of choice and the croissants were fresh which is a welcome change in France these days.
This is a reassuringly good and well run hotel and I would not hesitate to return or recommend to friends.

Beautiful, beautiful Pierrefonds and beautiful Hotel Beaudon. As Merlin fans we desperately wanted to see the famous Chateau where this great TV show is filmed and I have to say I absolutely fell in love with this gorgeous little town. The hotel is very quaint. We had a triple room on the top floor in what I would term the attic. We had sloped ceilings and exposed beams and a little dormer window from which we had a great view of the lake and the Chateau. The room was very comfortable and quite large with a double bed in one room and then a single bed in a little separate area and it had a spotlessly clean & modern bathroom. We ate dinner & breakfast in the restaurant downstairs and the food was very good. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful but what makes this hotel a stand out is its location. It is directly opposite a beautiful lake and the little town is perhaps the most picturesque place I have ever seen with the huge Chateau towering over it on the hillside above. I think in Summer it might get a little overrun but in December it was a sleepy hollow and a great place to visit. Thank you Pierrefond & Hotel Beaudon for a great stay.

We were super pleased with our choice to stay in this hotel. First of all, the view from your window is on a beautiful castle (which you should visit also).
Also, the rooms are very comfortable, wide, and offer many treats that are very rare in 2-3 stars hotels, like body lotion, a kettle with tea and coffee bags.
The staff is very nice, and even remember if you had coffee or tea the day before for breakfast, and bring it to you at once.
The neighborhood is charming, and it's fun to just walk through the streets by the hotel.
And a thing that was important for me, in the cold days of the winter- the heating works very very good, and you can easily warm the room in a sec.

We would like to thank hotel Beaudon for their lovely hospitality during our very recent stay. We were there in Pierrefonds visiting the chateau as our daughter is a huge fan of merlin we booked for two nights so we could explore this little village without having to rush back to Paris not knowing what to expect in a small town we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and politeness of this small but quaint hotel. We booked a triple room asking for a view to the chateau and boy we were not disappointed! It was like a dream waking up to that view every morning my daughter was in merlin heaven. The bathroom was huge and like new. we ate dinner there the first night and it was delicious. The manager also booked us a taxi as we were travelling back to compiegne on a Sunday morning there was no other transport he did this no trouble at all. Thank you Hotel Beaudon we will recommend you to all our fellow travellers.

Room Tip: All the rooms in the hotel are lovely but do ask for a view it's well worth it

There was a mix up with the booking but the owners managed to find us a room even though it was very busy as there was a medieval event taking place. The room we were given was a single room but with a double bed. Had there only been 1 person staying there then it would have been more than adequate but with two people it was very cramped. There wasn't any aircon so we had to sleep with the windows open, which looked out on to a courtyard at the back of the hotel, this meant that we didn't have any street noise but we could hear the staff chatting whilst having their break.
We ate at the hotel in the evening, the food was delicious and we had a wonderful view of the castle. There was no parking at the hotel and due to the medieval event we ended up parking in a field outside the village, this was a minor irritation but as the weather was so nice the walk was very pleasant.
We would come back but next time we would make sure that there was no mix up by contacting the hotel prior to travel to confirm that they had our booking.

4 of us stayed here on Saturday night. The hotel is easy enough to find, but parking is very difficult. There are a number of car parks, but as soon as the weather is nice, or the weekend arrives, it gets very busy. You have to pull up outside the hotel to drop your luggage, but inevitably that means that it can become quite congested.
The hotel and next door restaurants have outside seating areas, across the road, and the waiting staff take their lives in their hands serving !
We had 2 rooms with a view of the castle, which was fantastic, especially in the sunshine. The rooms themselves are very basic and nothing particularly special. Facilities are clean and functional, akin to a travelodge or holiday inn. This is what we were expecting, so no problem with that, as of course we wanted to see the castle.
Noise was an issue for us, as the people in the room above didnt seem to sleep ! There didnt seem to be much insulation between the rooms. Also, there is no air conditioning, so you need to have the windown open. As the hotel is on the main road through the town, you are at risk of passing chatter disturbing your sleep.
Hotel service from the staff was good, and we received attention promptly. The breakfast again was functional, and fine for the purpose.
In summary, there is only a very limited choice of hotels in the town, and this hotel was fine for the location we wanted and the price we paid. Pierrefonds is well worth a visit, as the castle is lovely, and the atmosphere in the town with the variety of bars and the lake is buzzy and fun. Worth spending a night if youre touring.
