“A very warm welcome in the most beautiful of settings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

After a very beautiful but long train journey in the fall with all its glorious foliage from Ayrshire to the exquisitely beautiful and historic village of Glenfinnan, we were warmly greeted and welcomed at this gem of a hotel. From inital contact at booking to reluctant departure we were treated as very valued guests. The rooms were well heated and beautifully decorated with very personal touches such as the Arran Aromatic toiletries in the en suites. Though we stayed in November when most tourist facillities were already closed for the the season, the menu for both dinner and breakfast offered many choices to suit all tastes and preferences and the food was beautifully prepared. The wonderful hospitality of Ina and Kieron was perfectly exemplified when our group returned to the hotel wet and cold on the day of our departure when we had already checked out but were returning for our left luggage. Though the hotel does not offer midday meals in the off season (and other hotels and tourist attractions were all closed for the season), they provided us with hot drinks and the most beautiful freshly made soup and warm bread for a very reasonable price. A gem of a hotel in such a beautiful setting with the warmth of hospitality only achievable in a small family run hotel.

What a gem! as soon as you enter the hotel you are treated as royalty by Ina, Keiron and their staff. Stayed here for three nights and was not dissappointed. Room was superb with big comfy bed and huge bath. Bar was well stocked and breakfast was a feast! Ate in the bar each evening and the quality of food was superb - melt in the mouth duck, awesome steak and great veggies.

Will defo be back

Room Tip: Stayed in a room overlooking main road but never really heard traffic as it died down after 10pm eac...

I stayed one night here on my way back from Eigg. Right on the road, with car park opposite, (better approached from the Fort William side, as a steep ramp from the Mallaig direction. Care needed both in the corridors and bedrooms with heavily coombed ceilings.Friendly young manager. Only suppers in the bar, but good food---the mussels were the best I have ever tasted .Good touches, eg books by bed,2 easy chairs in dining room with papers and magazines Bedroom had basin in room, and a couple of lights not working.. .

Room Tip: Rooms at back quiet, but no view. Not a place for those with mobility problems.

A wonderful spot and a fantastic hotel experience at Princes House..friendly staff who have the time of day for you...realistic prices on bar drinks and room service...great breakfast...thoroughly recommend it for any walkers or climbers looking to explore the delights of Knoydart and wanting somewhere to rest weary feet...just a short walk from the famous viaduct and memorial and next door to the railway station...perfect!

Staff were very friendly and helpful, making this hotel a pleasant place to stay, both my partner and I would stay there again if we head up that way. set in beautiful surroundings and ideal base camp for walker cyclists etc... rooms are clean and tidy and the bar meals are tastey and good value for money.

We stayed at the Prince's house Hotel en route to Inverness. We cannot praise enough this true gem nestled in among the rolling hills. The hotel staff were so warm and welcoming. The hotel is beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean - comfortable, cosy and so inviting.
The dining experience was incredible. All local produce and cooked to perfection by an award winning chef. This culinary experience would be hard to match in a top London hotel. The Harry Potter bridge and the Bonnie Prince Charlie monument merged together history and magic and made our whole experience in Glenfinnan truly magical.
We couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough. Thank you Kieron, Ina, Chris and Alasdair.

We stayed in this fantastic small hotel for three nights. Everything was lovely - from the welcoming cup of tea and fruitcake while we were waiting in the lounge for our room to be set, to the comfortable beds and delicious dinners. We had three course dinners in the restaurant twice, and eat at the bar once. All very tasty, fresh and proffessional in a relaxed and friendly way. The location is alongside the road, but has no heavy traffic, so you wont be disturbed by it. It is perfect to explore the mountains around the famous bridge, or for a very long walk along the lake. Will we return? Oh yes, we would love to!
