We have just returned from a 4 night Sun promotion break at this venue. It is lovely and quiet and remote so a car is essential. As we did not pay much we were satisfied but if we had paid full price then we would have felt disatisfied. The facilites including the swimming pool area is in need of refurbishment and our caravan facilities were in need of updating. The pans and utensils required washing up before we could use them and the van was very drafty in the main seating area. The staff were vey friendly and helpful and we felt that 'nothing was too much trouble'. We would come again as it is a fantastic location for walking and relaxing.

My husband and I booked a static van through the Sun promotion, we paid for the upgrade as these vans are always kept dog free. The van was spotless, a nice size and seemed to keep its heat a lot longer than previous vans we have stayed in. We had a couple of niggles, the TV aerial was temperamental, and the carbon monoxide detector would bleep even when the gas appliances were all turned off, so was a pain one morning when it woke us up earlier than we would have liked. It is better to be safe than sorry, so we had to live with it.
The site was very quiet, as most of the schools had returned from the summer holidays, there were a few children, but these could only be heard in the pool, or playing in the park. All the dogs we saw were on leads, and we never saw any mess left around.
We did encounter one member of staff that was having a bad day, and found her very curt.
They have a take away on site, but the food has to be ordered by 17.00 hrs and can be collected at a time set by you, up until 18.30. The downside is you have to take a container to collect it in, they don't provide anything, not even newspaper.
We didn't use any on the facilities so are unable to comment.
IF YOU DO BOOK TO STAY HERE, REMEMBER TO TAKE THE DIRECTIONS THEY SEND WITH THE CONFIRMATION. IF YOU DON'T YOU WILL GO ROUND AND ROUND IN CIRCLES.
We had found the road easy to find when approaching from the M5, but after a trip out one day, we didn't have the directions, we knew we could get there from Honiton but this turned out to be a big mistake, the roads leading to the site are very narrow lanes at times, and some of the signposts are missing, we tried using the Sat Nav, but that didn't help, and in the end had to find our way back to the M5 and come in from the same direction as before, so be warned.
All in all a very nice quiet site in the middle of nowhere.

Room Tip: Don't forget the directions

We've never stayed in a static caravan before but after this week we will be doing so again, back here.

What a wonderful place. Everything was just perfect and everything just worked as it should.

Super friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help, even when I didn't realize where the fridge switch was.

Spotlessly clean, well maintained. In fact, it became quickly obvious that the other guests, like ourselves, tok a pride in maintaining the ambiance of the site.

Room Tip: For those allergic to dogs, the upgrade to pet-free is well worthwhile.

Spent 2 nights here in a folding camper with my Mother in Law and 2 children aged 13. Very peaceful site, nice and quiet at night time.

We were very close to the toilet block, full EHU and flat pitch, with ample space between caravans.
The 2 girls found plenty to do with the swimming pool, adventure play park and games room. Yes the games room is a bit outdated and could do with a spruce up, but tbh they were more interested in being outside anyway.
Nice little shop, very reasonably priced. You could also order takeaway food from their own cafe but we didn't have occasion to do so. The staff were all very pleasant and were happy to answer any queries.

There are plenty of toilets and showers, although the showers do tend to be a touch on the cold side lol, but hey, you can't have everything. There were about 6 washing up points on the toilet block and I never had to wait to use one. There is also a laundry room but I didn't use this.

The girls enjoyed themselves immensely, my MIL found it very relaxing, as did I. It was also reasonably priced and didn't add all sort of extras on for awnings and EHU and kids etc.

And as an added bonus we had the fun of taking part in duck corralling lol, when the staff were trying to get the ducklings into their house for the night. Great fun :D

We've just got home from this site after a 3 day stay in a static van. Van was a simple no frills van with quite a few things in need of repair . The site itself is very small but in a beautiful forest location. Small games room which is in desperate need of some new equipment. Little shop on site which had your basics, wifi is ridiculously priced if your using multiple devices & the wifi connection is not the best. Some staff are very friendly but there was 1 who was very rude & I had pleasure in telling him so in a nice kind manner too which he did apologise. The owner of site is not the most friendly either. All dogs that I saw were kept on leads & the grounds are well kept .
All in all we've had a lovely few days away. Would I recommend? Yes I would purely for the beautiful location & walks there are.

Stayed for a weekend camping with four families all with children under 6. I would recommend the site for a stay for younger kids to potter in the extensive woodland, enjoy the adventure play area, use the small indoor pool, and maybe the tennis court and little football pitch. The water in the swimming pool was slightly cloudy but I'm sure the site staff check chemicals regularly.

The staff were friendly and efficient and helped to re-arrange pitches to ensure our group was together. The Christmas Tree field is a small glade surrounded by trees which I prefer. The main camping field offers more space but is a bit further from facilities.

Showers and toilets were always clean. A couple of our party did mention lack of warm water. The shop is small but reasonably well stocked. If you find yourself without food there's plenty in there to knock up a meal. We had takeaway chips which were pleasant - a real bonus when camping for me!

We went to Escot Park last visit which was interesting for adults and fun for kids. The coast about 30-40 mins away. Exmouth is close back own the M5.

Thank you for a nice stay. I'm keen to return.

We spent last week untill yesterday here and from the first day it did not go well.
First when we got there we had booked 3 pitches together and some one gave one to someone else so one tent was away from us.
Second every time we went for a shower they were cold and did not flow very well.
Third there seamed to be no rules we had kids and adults runing and playing ball games around the tents and one of our cars was hit. There was also noise untill late into the night/early morning.
Dogs were meant to be kept on leads, but one was runing around and went for my dog, I did report it, but it was still running free for a couple of days.
It said the pool was heated, but it was cold and dirty, there was plasters and dirt in it.
I have been camping for meany years and never had to complane before so sorry i will not recomend you to my campping friends and did not find the staff frendly and some were rude when i asked about were the nearest supper market was thay took adfence to it has i wanted to shop else were but the shop was not very well stocked could not get everything i needed like i could at othere camp site.
