Description: It is situated in the Blackdown Hills on the Devon/Somerset border. The pub has spectacular views as it looks across the Culm Valley. We offer outstanding food from the restaurant from our ever-changing special board and our menu. We also have a selection of local beers.

“Pie and Fish and Chip Nights every week!”
Reviewed July 7, 2011

This really is a comfy and very homely old Devon country pub with great choice of both freshly drawn beers and of course a good choice of wines! Lamb Duo - Best End of Lamb with an Individual Shepherd's Pie Vanilla Parsnip, Gratin Dauphinoise, Natural Jus cannot be bad with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc?

The pub has a fascinating history, an amazing view over the beautiful Culm Valley, a lovely log fire, and a great selection of Real Ales. These are all local and constantly changing. Of course they are featured in the Good Pub guide and members of CAMRA so get on yer bike and start pedalling!.

Tuesdays are Pie Night and Fridays Fish and Chip Night!

“A tucked away Gem - not to be missed!”
Reviewed April 25, 2011

We have eaten here many times, and are never disappointed. It has a friendly homely feel, the menu is very varied and there are special days for types of food - eg Fridays is Fish and chip night (the fish is excellent). Situated in a really beautiful area, if the weather is nice, sitting outside looking across the valley is amazing. Off the beaten track, but can get busy, so ring before hand to check about booking. Does close on a Monday.
