Fun for all ages (subject to height restrictions), Diggerland with its 20 different rides and drives and an array of additional activities is the ideal theme park for small to large groups looking for something exciting and truly unique. An excellent day. I had a 3 for 2 from vouchercloud, which cut the cost, but, I wouldn't have been upset if I'd paid full price. Lots of exciting things for my 7 year old (and us adults) to do, including drive a real JCB! The customer service was excellent, which is not always the case at adventure playgrounds. Everyone greeted us with a smile and were polite and friendly. The food area was spotless and very child friendly. The food (burgers, wraps, sandwiches) were basic but cooked to order and obviously fresh, and a reasonable price. We arrived at 10 (as it opened) and didn't need to wait for any ride, although one of the staff (very politely) told us we'd been lucky with this. We had a great day, only wish it was a bit closer to us as we would definately get a season ticket. Highly recommended.

As the parent of a 7yo boy - and a 2yo girl who thinks she's a 7yo boy - Diggerland seemed like a good day out. A theme park based on diggers and machinery, well why not? Tbh, we have previously rounded off our hols at Legoland, and I think I probably went to Diggerland with too high an expectation of what the day would deliver, so please bear that in mind.

I am now 95% convinced that bank holiday Monday is *the* best summer day of the year to visit any attraction, as everyone else is at home, avoiding big attractions because they think everyone else is there - as was the case with Diggerland. Staff advised that it was as busy as usual, and that really isn't very busy at all. No queues on any rides, which may sound like heaven, but did mean that after four hours, we'd pretty much exhausted Diggerland.

The rides are graded, with very little the under 80cms can go on, a handful that the 80-90cms can go on, and most that over 90cms can go on. This meant that my 2yo was a bit limited, being a fraction under 90cm, however considering she spent every opportunity to shout 'let me do it!' When we went on something, maybe it's best that we were restricted with her!

The rides don't just centre on what the diggers usually do (hooking a duck with a mini digger is harder than you think....) but what they can do - Spindizzy basically puts you in the bucket of a massive digger as it spins round. Fast. One or two of the rides seemed a bit pointless, such as the safari ride, which is a short 4x4 course, driven by a very pleasant but non-speaking driver. If you've never been in a 4x4 on a slightly bumpy road, then try it, but otherwise, have a go on Spindizzy.

As ever with theme parks, there were some extra rides that you needed money for, however these were only a few and tbh quite unusual, such as the quads and the ride on furry animals (inside the Dig Inn). For a pound, the quads went quite a long way (and you can ride them on the path!) and watching your 7yo son ride a giant pink furry bear has got to be worth £1 any day.

The Dig Inn is like a play barn - soft play and bouncy castle, with JCB theatre and some slot machines. Clean and well looked after, this got busy at 12, but beforehand was quiet enough to let our 2yo loose in the 4-9yo soft play area. The shop is also pleasant, though is largely dominated by kids toys and clothes. Can't criticise too much as I suspect there probably isn't much available on the theme of diggers otherwise, but was surprised not to see anything like photo frames?

If you get bored of diggers, there is the large play area, with a number of big slides, most of which need a sack really to be fast and which there is a dire lack of. Otherwise, this kept both kids and adults entertained for a while! We did notice someone marching around who seemed to be in charge, however all the staff are young and generally enthusiastic - though I wonder if their overview goes beyond the obvious, hence the lack of sacks?

A good day out - would agree with another reviewer who suggested 4hours on a quiet day and 6hours on a busy day. Think we will return when our littlest is a bit bigger. Husband could have happily stayed all day he tells me!

Have a digger mad son who loved his surprise trip to digger land! Loved ridding on real machines! Took a picnic so can not comment on food. Play area bit run down but some good slides! Not long queuing for rides and all staff friendly! Not much inside so go on a dry day but lots to keep a digger fan very busy!
